To qualify as “like-kind,” the exchange must be done according to the rules in the tax code; it doesn’t mean the investor has to replace an apartment building with an apartment building, etc.

Investors can reap significant tax benefits by taking advantage of the 1031 exchange, and in some areas, it’s considered one of the best-kept secrets in the Internal Revenue Code. A properly structured exchange can provide investors with the opportunity to defer all of their capital gains taxes. This results in an essentially interest-free, no-term loan from the government. Instead of paying the taxes now, the investor can put those dollars to work on other investment properties. This type of investment is most similar to rolling over funds from one IRA into another.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act retained the ability for investors to perform like-kind exchanges (1031 tax-deferred exchanges) and defer paying capital gains taxes on sale proceeds. Lost, however, was the ability to exchange any type of personal property, such as farm equipment.

Transfer of Tax Exemption for Veterans

The 2020 Florida legislative session saw two important updates to property tax laws, specifically geared toward military members and their families. The first law, House Bill 1249, effective July 1, 2020, applies to:

* Totally and permanently disabled veterans

* The surviving spouses of totally and permanently disabled veterans

The law allows qualifying veterans and their surviving spouses to receive a refund of certain property taxes paid on a new homestead property that they acquire between January 1 and November 1 of a given tax year. To qualify, they must have received a similar homestead tax exemption on another property in the same tax year.

Property Tax Credit for Military Spouses

Along the same vein, House Joint Resolution 877, effective January 1, 2020, allows a homestead property tax discount for a disabled veteran to be transferred to the veteran’s surviving spouse upon the veteran’s death, provided that the veteran had received the discount. In other words, a surviving spouse can’t apply for the discount after the veteran’s death, but if the veteran had already been receiving it, it can be transferred to the surviving spouse.

Qualifying veterans must be 65 years of age or older and have a partial or total combat-related disability. Surviving spouses who remarry are ineligible for the homestead exemption transfer.

Changes for Homeowner Associations

For properties in homeowner associations, the new law:

* Permits associations to adopt rules to allow for posting meeting notices and agendas on a website and emailing members meeting notices and agendas

* Requires sign-in sheets, voting proxies, ballots, and all other papers related to association voting to be maintained as official records

* Makes any information an association obtains in connection to guests visiting homeowners in a gated community confidential

* Provides that an amendment to the governing documents that restricts the right to rent a parcel may only be applied prospectively and provides that a change of ownership does not occur for purposes of applying an amendment restricting rental rights when a parcel owner conveys the parcel to an affiliated entity, when beneficial ownership of the parcel does not change, or when an heir becomes a parcel owner

This means that:

* An association may not retroactively restrict the right of an owner to rent out a parcel.

* An association may not use the transfer of a parcel from one owner to another to apply a rental prohibition if the owner conveys the parcel to an affiliated entity or an heir

Clarifies that payment of a fine is due five days after notice of the fine is provided

This is a public episode. This restriction has weakened China’s economic position. Additionally, the loss of access to oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz has left China vulnerable, as more than 20% of its oil supply comes from this region. With Iran no longer serving as a reliable partner, China finds itself in the most precarious state it has been in decades. The United States has assumed a new role as the gatekeeper of the region, further limiting China’s options.

Political and Economic Neutralization of Iran

Iran has been neutralized both politically and financially following the removal of top leadership and the disruption of oil shipments that previously funded terror activities. The recent changes have left Iran isolated and unable to exert its former influence.

Venezuela’s Transformation and U.S. Influence

Venezuela has also been neutralized, primarily due to U.S. control over its oil resources. The recent takeover has severely weakened Venezuela’s monetary influence. With new leadership supervised by the United States, Venezuela is expected to conform to Western monetary policies, further aligning its economy with U.S. and international interests.

Cuba’s Dependency and Marginalization

Cuba, which receives the majority of its oil from Venezuela, now finds itself at the mercy of the United States. The loss of its connection with Venezuela, and increased dependence on other communist countries, has marginalized Cuba. As a result, Cuba is demanding independence but remains constrained by its economic ties.

Global Impact and U.S. Leadership

The leadership changes in Iran, Cuba, and Venezuela are anticipated to benefit the United States and help protect the world from blackmail and terror attacks. The U.S. has managed to cripple the influence of these four countries—China, Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba—through a doctrine of peace through strength.

Reduction in Drug Trafficking

Drug trafficking has seen a dramatic decrease, reportedly down by 96%, as a consequence of these geopolitical shifts.

Isolation of Major Adversaries

Russia, China, Venezuela, and Iran are now isolated and under the control of U.S. leadership, particularly President Trump. This scenario represents a significant change, as these nations had never anticipated such a shift in global power dynamics.

Cuba’s Path to Independence

Cuba is expected to become an independent nation in the coming months or years, marking a new chapter in its history.

Warning! Paramedics were panicking about my blood pressure. The story of Greenback Talk.

The 401K Money Trap: Important Factors to Consider

Greenback Talk Podcast “401K Money Trap” explores the various elements that individuals should evaluate when deciding how much to contribute to their 401K retirement accounts. This discussion provides insight into the potential pitfalls and advantages associated with 401K contributions, helping listeners make informed decisions about their retirement savings strategy.

Greenback Talk Website

Connect on LinkedIn

Considerations for Young Investors

If you earn $60,000 consistently per year for 20 years, you could accumulate $100,000 in a 401K. That number is dependent upon the investment market returning 8% annually for 15 years, ($107,000). With a 5% return, it would take 20 years to reach $100,000. During that time, inflation, COLA, geopolitics, and other variables must be factored in.

For young people just starting to manage their finances ($45,000 annual salary), it would require consistent 3% or $1,350 per year of contributions for 25 years. This is a numbers and years game. Incomes, life occurrences, rate changes, and market fluctuations must be taken into consideration.

$45,000 - $48,575 standard taxes = $30,000 net minus $1,350 = $28,650 net.

Your net income is $28,650 / 52 weeks = $550.97

Next Tiered Salary

If and when your salary reaches a higher tax status ($85,000 and higher), contributing to a 401K may prove beneficial. This also depends on positive positioning and market moves for the next 20 - 25 years.

The additional $112.50 per week may be needed today, not in a 401K.

it’s important to weigh the reasons why investing in a 401(k) at an early age might not always be the best decision. One significant deterrent is that putting money into a 401(k) can reduce your immediate spending power and limit your access to cash. Maintaining liquidity is crucial, as having readily available cash can provide flexibility for opportunities or emergencies.

Alternative Approaches to Building Wealth

You can benefit yourself by exploring other investment options and focusing on building assets and increasing your net worth. Developing a strategy for investing and asset accumulation early can lay a strong foundation for future financial security.

Resources and Recommendations

For more information, consider listening to the “Greenback Talk” podcast. Additionally, check out the Twitch channel for engaging and informative content on financial topics.

Managing Income and Spending

When you start earning money, it’s easy to fall into the habit of spending freely. However, it’s important to manage your cash wisely rather than treating it as something to be spent without thought. By planning carefully, you can begin investing in accessible options like mutual funds. Building up a cash reserve first is essential before committing to longer-term investments.

The Importance of Time Management

Ultimately, effective financial planning also involves managing your time wisely, ensuring you’re prepared to make strategic investment decisions as opportunities arise.

Greenback Talk Website

Connect on LinkedIn

This is a public episode. Inflation is down over time. Import prices dropped a lot in the first half of the year, that leveled off, and real wages were up $1,400 on average last year, which means that consumers were made better off by the tariffs,” he said.

Gold Standard and Spending

Since the United States abandoned the gold standard in 1971, the value of the dollar has not been tied to gold. Despite this, the dollar has continued to serve as the cornerstone of the international monetary system. The absence of a gold-backed currency has shaped global financial dynamics and reinforced the dollar’s dominance.

Understanding the Reserve Currency

The reserve currency plays a pivotal role in international trade and financial stability. Today, the world relies heavily on the U.S. dollar—often referred to as “Greenbacks”—as the primary reserve currency. This reliance means that the majority of global transactions and reserves are denominated in U.S. dollars, linking the financial health of many nations to the stability and strength of the dollar.

With most of the wealth secured in stocks, real estate, and options, the interconnected must develop a new method of financial control, without leveraging their stock options, real estate portfolios, and capital gains tax status.

Has a woman ever been pictured on U.S. currency? Martha Washington is the only woman whose portrait has appeared on a U.S. currency note. It appeared on the face of the $1 Silver Certificate of 1886 and 1891, and the back of the $1 Silver Certificate of 1896.

What is “Checkbook” currency? At one time, private bindery companies would bind genuine currency notes in a “checkbook” fashion to be torn out as needed. However, BEP does not offer currency as a bound product. To acquire such an item, it is suggested that you acquire new currency notes from a bank and locate a bindery company capable of providing such a service. Such companies can be located on the internet or in your local telephone directory under the headings for “printers” and “bookbinders.”

1876Congress passes an appropriation bill that directs the Internal Revenue Service to procure stamps engraved and printed at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing – provided costs do not exceed that of private firms. As a result, BEP begins producing almost all revenue stamps in fiscal year 1878.

This is a public episode. BRICS and other nations are buying large quantities of gold to secure their new payment systems and put pressure on Greenbacks.

An International Constitution

BRICS, OPEC+, the United Nations, and rogue countries are inviting uncivilized countries to join their membership to expand their footprint on global markets. An international Constitution is in the works to protect BRICS, OPEC+, the United Nations, and rogue third-world countries from U.S. retaliation. Members wanting to break free of the Greenback will adopt the Constitution.

Some members of BRICS cannot trade in dollars. Their need for cross-border trade is at an all-time high. They want to use individual currencies and eliminate the dollar for all purchases, especially oil. For this to happen, a new banking system must be constructed outside of SWIFT. Collateralized monetary denominations, backed by gold, must be in place. Written agreements that do not use or support the Greenback could be drafted in an international Constitution.

SWIFT vs SPSF

The world trades in petrol dollars. What if the SWIFT banking system gets an override from SPSF, CIPS, Pix, or UPI? The BRICS payment systems are led by Putin, and they’re gearing up for an assault on the Greenback. BRICS, OPEC+, the United Nations, and rogue countries want an end to monetary sanctions the United States controls thanks to our reserve currency status.

BRICS

China is developing a navy and threatening Taiwan, Russia is taking control of Ukraine, India is partnering with Russia and China out of fear of retaliation and geopolitical location, Brazil is buying energy from BRICS, and asking Trump to minimize the tariffs, and preparing for the climate change hoax summit.

Cryptocurrencies

Bitcoin is forecast to reach one million dollars in the coming years. When this happens, it will be cryptocurrency reigning supreme or a devalued dollar that will be worth very little. This is when regulations and taxes on cryptocurrencies marched to the front and center in D.C.

Cryptocurrency could skyrocket. Cryptocurrency doesn’t have wire deadlines. The downside, the type of crypto in your wallet could be worth the same as your paper dollar; worthless. What a fun game of espionage BRICS and D.C. have played with our tax dollars.

Debt

The United States recently crossed the $37,000,000,000,000 (37 trillion) dollar threshold. There are not many voices in Washington concerned that the debt has surpassed our defense and entitlement spending.

Inflation Has Cooled vs the Staggering Debt

Inflation has cooled, the tariffs are funding the WIC program, but the Democrat led shutdown is showcasing why a new reserve currency may be wanted or desired by many countries. Non-capitalistic nations want consolidated power more than California Democrats proposing gerrymandering on the north-eastern boundaries of the state. BRICS, OPEC+, and rogue nations do not hold our beliefs, Constitutional rights, freedoms, and faith. This is the danger zone for Americans.

Bitcoin

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are making a huge impact on the markets and how goods are bought and sold. Decentralized currencies hold tremendous value. If you can afford to buy cryptocurrencies and/or choose the right crypto to own, you can avoid a catastrophic financial event.

Build a Net Worth Living Paycheck to Paycheck

When the dollar collapses and an international incident breaks out, you must have liquid collateral or bartering collateral to stay afloat. This could alter the strength the dollar has on trading markets and could open the door for BRICS to advance its currency technology.

California Gubernatorial (Governor) Race

The candidates for California Governor have similar answers and perspectives. I’m anti-Trump, Trump is a fascist, gerrymandering is ok, blame Texas, and our taxpayer dollars are being stolen by Trump. California Democrats want to consolidate power and leave any Republican living in the state without representation in D.C.

Subscribe. Share. Follow.

This is a public episode.
