From the rich getting richer, to the real value of Shohei Ohtani’s contract, to why LA has become the premier destination for elite talent, this is a raw, unfiltered breakdown of how the Dodgers keep bending the sport without breaking any rules.

He talks Tucker’s health, his MVP-level ceiling, the opt-out structure, why the Mets and Blue Jays came up short, and how short-term, high-AAV contracts are reshaping the market. Trae Young to Washington. No draft picks. None. He breaks down how that even happens, why it might be a home run for the Wizards, and what it really says about defense, star value, and where the league is headed. From Atlanta’s identity shift to Washington betting on elite talent with almost no risk, it’s a deep dive into cap math, philosophy, and the new rules of superstar movement.

Then the focus shifts to Chicago, where the vibes changed fast. The Cubs land Alex Bregman on a massive but smart five-year deal, signaling a real “win now” era at Wrigley. Don walks through the contract structure, the competitive balance tax implications, the clubhouse impact, and why this move feels different from Cubs spending of the past. Big market mindset, finally backed by big market intent.

And then… the moment.

The Bears. The Packers. The playoffs.

A fourth-quarter comeback for the ages.

Caleb Williams puts on the cape, Soldier Field loses its mind, and decades of psychological baggage get tossed straight into Lake Michigan. Don breaks down the game, the rivalry history, the coaching decisions, the injuries, the gutsy calls, and why this win felt like more than just advancing a round. It felt like a transfer of power.

Three sports. One city. One voice.

Passion, stats, context, and a whole lot of “it is what it is.”

Pull up a chair. Order a drink.

El Ganso de Taberna is in session.

Visit aniondon.com

This is a public episode. A year after finishing 5–12 and firing their head coach midseason, the Chicago Bears have clinched the NFC North. Same quarterback. Similar core. Completely different results.

Don dives into how it happened. The rise of Caleb Williams in year two. The Ben Johnson effect and what real coaching stability looks like. A defense that creates chaos. An offense that finally fits its quarterback. From historic comeback wins to beating the odds in one-score games, this is a season built on belief, execution, and timing.

But this episode goes deeper than football. Don reflects on his personal relationship with sports, growing up a baseball kid, finding football later, and ultimately closing the book on an 18-year fantasy football run as a longtime commissioner. He shares stories about betting on himself, standing by his quarterbacks, and the connections the game has brought into his life.

It’s part season recap, part personal send-off, and part reminder that expectations don’t define you. Belief does.

The Bears play San Francisco tonight. The division is already theirs. And for the first time in a long time, the future feels wide open.

Go Bears.

Visit aniondon.com

This is a public episode. The Bears win in all three phases, force turnovers at an absurd rate, and remind the league who they are in December. This episode dives into what really matters right now: identity, execution, and winning football.

Caleb Williams’ growth takes center stage, including a DJ Moore touchdown throw that only a handful of quarterbacks on Earth should even attempt. Completion percentage takes a back seat to something more important: control. With Ben Johnson unlocking the offense and the defense leading the NFL in takeaways, the Bears look like a team built to win now.

There’s also context. Respect given to Miles Garrett’s historic season, honest thoughts on Cleveland’s direction, and a measured take on flashes shown by Shedeur Sanders in a tough environment. No piling on, just football.

At 10–4, the Bears control their own destiny. Green Bay is next. The division is in reach. And the question isn’t whether Chicago is for real anymore. It’s how far they can go if they keep playing like this.

Victory Monday hits different.

Go Bears.

Visit aniondon.com

This is a public episode. The Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles hit Black Friday with matching 8–3 records, but their paths could not be more different. The Bears are riding momentum, powered by a top ten scoring offense, a league-leading takeaway unit, and the rise of Caleb Williams. The Eagles arrive as defending champions fighting through a real Super Bowl hangover, a modest point differential, and an offense still trying to find its rhythm.

This episode breaks down everything that matters for this game:

• Caleb Williams growth and why he suddenly feels like that dude

• Chicago’s high-variance, high-octane offense and what makes it work

• Philly’s regression on offense and the pressure building around Jalen Hurts

• Key injuries, including Lane Johnson and Devonta Smith, and how they shift the matchup

• Saquon Barkley’s stalled run game vs a Bears defense that gives up yards but steals possessions

• The contrast between a rising franchise with nothing to lose and a champion carrying expectations

It is a test for Chicago. But the Finals unfold against a bigger backdrop — looming CBA negotiations, rising calls for fair pay, and Naphessa Collier’s bold statement that lit a fire under players and fans alike.

Don dives into the storylines that matter: dynasties versus reinvention, ownership investment versus continuity, and how the outcomes on the floor could ripple far beyond the game. Cleveland sending Isaac Okoro to Chicago for Lonzo Ball says a lot about where both teams are headed. From Cleveland’s side, picking up Ball with a team option for the second year shows smart financial management and calculated risk. Meanwhile, Chicago taking on Okoro with a fully guaranteed deal makes me question what their long-term plan really is. Moves like this remind me how crucial flexibility and clear vision are when you’re making high-stakes decisions in this league.

For Cleveland, landing Lonzo Ball could be a game-changer. Not only does it save them money, but it adds a player with a proven winning mindset to a roster built to make a serious run. With the Eastern Conference wide open right now, this trade feels like a perfectly timed play.

Then there’s LeBron James opting into his $52 million contract with the Lakers. From where I sit, it’s a strategic move. It keeps LeBron in control of his future and his legacy, while giving the Lakers another shot at a title. They’ll have to juggle that with preparing for the next era, likely centered around Luka Dončić. Even at 40, LeBron’s still producing at an elite level, but no one really knows what his endgame is.

If LeBron manages to snag a fifth championship, it’ll cement him as a sports icon on a level few have ever reached.
