Social expectations differ - just as “recollections may vary” as they say. As an American widow in Colombia, it’s sometimes easy to stumble over etiquette and social graces. More so since the social classes are more strictly defined in Colombian society than they are in the United States. Particularly so, if you are a social klutz. Someone with the best of intentions, but an awkward presentation. Made much more prominent since the loss of self-confidence in the wake of the “great betrayal” as I have taken to calling it. It would be almost comical, if it wasn’t so cringe-worthy, watching me tangle up my tongue, tripping on names and basic pronunciation. Simple phrases and words became major obstacles and opponents in my battle to retain dignity, and decorum befitting a woman of my somewhat advanced age.

So for today’s podcast, we are going to start with something easy.. and talk about daily life..

This is a public episode.
