COVID was doing what COVID did and I was doing what I did — working late, managing life, holding everything together. Sixty to eighty hours a week.

And then a thought popped into my head that changed everything. Not all at once. Not dramatically. But enough.

This isn't really a story about real estate. It's about the space between knowing something and actually moving on it. It's about what happens when you stop just thinking about it and take one small step toward yourself.

And it's about standing outside a testing center in September heat, hearing people laugh at you — and passing anyway.

I can still do hard things.

Maybe you can too.

Morning Reflections with LauraJo — SheAwakens, A Space for Becoming

This is a public episode. This isn't a grief post — it's a reflection on the unexpected gift that came from doing inner work before life got hard.

In this episode I talk about:

What it actually felt like to come off decades of adrenaline and learn to be still without guilt

The image that has brought me the most peace this past year — our paths diverging

How joy and sorrow can coexist — and why that's not a coping strategy, it's just being human

Trusting the next right step instead of needing the whole map

What it means to live life as an adventure when the adventure looks nothing like you planned

Peace is not the absence of grief.
