In this powerful sermon recap, Pastor Jon Jackson of Turning Point Church in Scottsburg, IN, breaks down Matthew 10:16-23. Discover how to keep your eyes on the Good Shepherd and endure to the end!

Peace be with you!

Come on, somebody, we need to wake up and recognize the reality of the hour we are living in. You are in a fight right now. You’re in a fight for your family, you’re in a fight for your children, and you are in a fight for this nation! There is a darkness out there, and the wolves are circling.

But God has not called us to cower in fear. He has given us the Spirit of the living God to rise up, declare His truth, and stand uncompromisingly on His promises. How many are thankful for God’s Word today?

In my latest message, “Endure to the End,” we dive deep into the heavy, uncompromising truth of Matthew 10:16-23. Jesus didn’t sugarcoat the mission. He looked right at His disciples and said, “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.”

My buddy Pastor Jim used to say it best: We need to have skin like a rhino and a heart like a dove.

Everybody say ENDURE!

If you are feeling the pressure of this world, if you are feeling mocked, ridiculed, or beaten down for your faith, this message is for you. Here is exactly what we need to remember to stand firm in the jungle of this world:

1. We Have a Good Shepherd

Jesus tells us we are being sent out as sheep among wolves. Now, I don’t know about you, but being a sheep in a jungle doesn’t sound like a great tactical advantage. We aren’t gorillas; we aren’t lions. But here is the good news: We have a Good Shepherd.

When you read Psalm 23, King David reminds us that the Lord leads us to green pastures and still waters. He doesn’t abandon us in the dry clay. Even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we don’t have to fear evil. Why? Because His rod and His staff comfort us. He prepares a table for us right in the presence of our enemies! Can I get an amen?

2. Don’t Lose Your Testimony in the Trial

The Bible warns us that we will be dragged before courts, mocked, and betrayed—sometimes even by people close to us. You might be emotionally hurt by friends, family, or co-workers right now because of your stand for Christ.

What do you do when bitter people throw rocks at you? You do exactly what King David did, and what the apostles did: You let God be glorified. You don’t bow your knee to the culture, and you don’t fight flesh with flesh. You hold onto the promises of God, and you guard your testimony. The enemy wants to steal your praise in the season of persecution, but we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11)! If the Lord is still on the throne—and He is—then He is still worthy to be praised!

3. Keep Your Eyes Fixed on Jesus

How do you actually endure to the end? You turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face! We are only on this earth for a short vapor of time. The things of this world will fade, but the Kingdom of God is forever.

When you don’t know what to say, the Holy Spirit will give you the words. When you feel completely surrounded, look up. Jesus is coming back, and He promises that the one who endures to the end shall be saved.

Listen to the Full Message Now

In this sermon audio file, we are tearing down the lies of the enemy and building up unshakeable, Holy Ghost-filled faith. You can listen to the full, uncompromising truth by clicking the audio link above.

I want to leave you with one final, piercing question today: Will you endure to the end?

Stay connected, keep your eyes on the cross, and don’t let the wolves steal your joy. Are you following a plow truck to a dead end, or are you following the Savior to a new life? Come on, somebody! When Jesus walked by that tax booth and said those two life-altering words, “Follow Me,” Matthew didn’t ask for a map; he stood up and changed his destiny! We’re diving deep into what it means to be a new creation in Christ and why Jesus is still looking for the sick and the sinners, not the self-righteous.

Everybody say, “Compassion!” It’s time to stop playing religion and start practicing relationship. If following Christ has never cost you anything, you might be following the wrong truck! How many are thankful for God’s Word today? I’m Pastor Jon Jackson, and I am so excited to share some practical, life-changing truth with you from our latest message at Turning Point Church.

Before we dive into the deep end, I always like to start with something to lighten the heart. A woman walked into a doctor's office with both ears burnt. The doctor asked, "What happened?" She said, "I was ironing my clothes and the phone rang, but I mistakenly picked up the iron!" The doctor nodded and said, "That explains one ear, but what about the other?" She sighed and said, "The phone rang again!"

Come on, somebody! Sometimes we get so distracted by the "noise" of life that we end up getting burned by the same old habits. But I'm here to tell you that one word from the Lord changes everything!

Practical Faith for Real Life

In our recent study of Matthew 9:1-8, we looked at the story of the paralytic man. Now, I know some folks think the Bible is just an old book of stories, but let me tell you, there is practical advice in these verses that will help you move out of your "tomb" of unbelief today.

In this sermon, titled "Jesus Heals," we break down three specific commands Jesus gave that you can apply to your life right now:

"Get Up": This is about Action. Faith isn't just sitting around waiting on God; often, God is waiting on you to activate your faith!

"Pick Up Your Mat": This is about Identity. That mat was who he used to be. By picking it up, he carried his past under his arm instead of letting it carry him. Your past is no longer your identity!

"Go Home": This is about Authority. Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth, and He wants you to walk in that authority exactly where you are.

Why You Should Check This Out

If you're feeling stuck, if you're feeling like the "scribes" in your life are constantly doubting what God can do, you need to hear this message. We don't just talk about the miracle; we talk about the dominion you have over darkness through Jesus Christ.

Stop staying in the place of "what used to be." It’s time to see God's glory together!

This is a public episode. Y'all doing good? Can I get an amen? Let's give the Lord a hand clap for what He's doing through our digital ministries! I know I talk fast sometimes—I get a little foggy and have to remind myself to slow down—but I am just so excited about getting this updated for the folks looking for a church home.

You know, my Grandpa Harry, a farmer with a 9th-grade education, used to say, "In life, you get bitter or you get better." And when you look at our history in this "From Roots to Outreach" video, you see a church that kept getting better because we kept trusting the Lord! God is sovereign, folks. He declares the end from the beginning, and He orchestrated every single step of this church's journey.

I'm not here to make you upset, but to preach the truth, and the truth is we need to make sure this is accurate and bold on the website! Here is the tagline, description, and hashtags you need, built right off the bedrock of our history:

Tagline: "Turning Point Church: A people of second chances and new beginnings, winning the lost at any cost since 1960!".

Video Description: Look at your neighbor and say, "God's got a plan!" This video, "From Roots to Outreach," traces the undeniable hand of God on Turning Point Church, proving that we are truly a "filling station for your soul". From that first spark of vision at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in 1960, to Reverend Iva K. Holmes pulling a U-Haul through the Scottsburg snow in 1961, God was setting up a miracle. We went from renting the old Vest funeral home to breaking ground on West McClain Avenue.

Through the decades, our name has transitioned from Grace Baptist Church in 1970, to First Southern Baptist in 1993, and finally to Turning Point Church in 2014. But listen to me: while the building and the names have changed, our bedrock remains the Word of God! The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.

Watch this timeline of our legacy and see how we put faith into action today through our Monday Food Giveaways, our beautiful Ladies' High Tea, our Vacation Bible School, Family Night at Starve Hollow, and our unwavering commitment to deep, exegetical, line-by-line preaching. It’s not about religion; it’s about a relationship. The doors are open wide—come and listen to our service!

Hashtags: #TurningPointChurch #WinTheLostAtAnyCost #ScottsburgIndiana #SecondChances #FaithThroughTheDecades #ExegeticalPreaching #FillingStationForTheSoul #FromRootsToOutreach

Come on somebody! Do the pressures of life, fear of the unknown, or past hurts make it difficult to trust God’s plan for your life? If you have ever struggled with doubt, you are not alone. Even Thomas, one of Jesus’ closest disciples, battled with eight days of agonizing doubt before encountering the resurrected King.

In a powerful and life-changing recent sermon, our Pastor tackled the reality of doubt and gave us a clear, biblical roadmap for overcoming it. If you need a fresh injection of hope and a reminder that Jesus is alive and actively pursuing you, you do not want to miss this message!

Here is a glimpse of how the Pastor explained we are called to walk out our faith:

* Trust His Word Over Your Doubts: In a world full of confusing voices, do not rely on your own understanding or lean on human logic. Instead, stick to the unchanging Word of God as your ultimate truth. If a thought or a voice contradicts God’s Word, you should not entertain it.

* Activate Your Faith: We are called to walk by faith, not by sight. True faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. You cannot wait until you have all the answers or can clearly see the outcome to trust God!

* Embrace His Peace: Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and He offers this profound peace as your inheritance right now. When fear, anxiety, or the lies of the enemy try to lock you in a “tomb” of doubt, listen for the voice of the Lord and command that fear to leave.

* Know and Follow His Voice: Just as Mary Magdalene instantly recognized Jesus the moment He called her name, you must purposefully tune your ear to the Shepherd’s voice. Refuse to let the noise of the world or the enemy distract you from what God is saying to you.

* Don’t Let Fear Delay Your Assignment: Even if your doubt lingers or your current circumstances look dangerous, continue moving forward in whatever assignment God has given you. Do not let unbelief cause you to change directions.

When you choose to believe, your life is forever changed. True living means full surrender—letting Jesus be Lord over every single aspect of your life and boldly declaring, just like Thomas did, “My Lord and my God!”

Ready to activate your faith and conquer your doubts? Designed as a simple lesson for teenagers, “The Cost of Calm” explores a powerful story from Matthew 8:28-34 about how Jesus brings peace into our most turbulent circumstances.

The video breaks down the intense biblical account of Jesus traveling to the region of the Gadarenes, where He stepped off a boat and intentionally walked toward two violently demon-possessed men who had made the area completely impassable. When Jesus steps into the chaos, He completely transforms the situation, demonstrating that you are never in danger when He is leading your path. With just one single word—”Go”—Jesus changed everything and brought peace to the men.

However, bringing calm to this chaotic situation came with an unexpected and massive price. Jesus permitted the destructive spirits to enter a herd of about 2,000 pigs, which then rushed down a steep bank into the sea and perished, representing an estimated economic loss of $600,000 to over $1.2 million. While the men were miraculously healed and restored to their right minds, the people of the surrounding city cared more about their financial loss than the lives saved, and they ultimately pleaded with Jesus to leave their region.

This video will challenge you to look at your own life and ask: are you willing to let Jesus remove the hindrances in your life, even if achieving true peace is costly? Watch now to discover why Jesus is the ultimate answer to life’s chaos, and learn why true spiritual deliverance is always worth more than worldly comfort.

Hashtags: #TheCostOfCalm #Matthew8 #FaithForTeens #JesusBringsPeace #OvercomingChaos #SpiritualDeliverance #YouthMinistry #WalkByFaith

Thanks for reading! In this powerful video, “From Doubt to Belief: 3 Daily Habits to Build Active Faith,” we dive deep into the relatable struggle of the disciple Thomas. After the resurrection of Christ, Thomas demanded physical proof, insisting he had to see and touch the nail scars before he would believe the other disciples. For eight agonizing days, he was locked in a mental prison of his own unbelief and torment, facing the universal choice we all encounter in our pain: will you allow your circumstances to make you “bitter,” or will you choose to get “better”?.

This video provides a clear, biblical action plan to help you break free from the bitterness of doubt. Drawing directly from the narrative of John chapter 20, you will discover three highly practical daily habits to turn your personal fear into an active, living faith. You will learn how to:

* Trust His Heart: Stop leaning on your own human understanding and surrender your anxiety to the Lord, rooted in Proverbs 3:5-6.

* Trust His Word: Anchor your mindset in the absolute truth of Isaiah 40:8 and John 1:1, recognizing that while your feelings and circumstances change, God’s Word stands forever.

* Activate Your Faith: Apply Hebrews 11:1 to your daily life, intentionally commanding faith to rise up and fear to leave your mind.

You do not have to let doubt delay the spiritual assignment God has for your life. Just as Jesus actively pursued Thomas in the midst of his skepticism—like a shepherd leaving the ninety-nine to find the one lost sheep—He is reaching out to you today.

Click the link to watch the full video and discover how to stop doubting, start believing, and build a daily habit of unshakable faith!

Hashtags: #ActiveFaith #OvercomeUnbelief #FromBitterToBetter #TrustHisWord #StopDoubtingStartBelieving

Thanks for reading! Look at your neighbor and say, Can I get an amen? This message right here, “Jesus meets you in your doubt,” is all about the undeniable truth that Jesus is alive and well, and He will step right into the middle of your mess to bring you peace. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good!

Listen to me, y’all. The Bible says that after the resurrection, the disciples were hiding behind locked doors, scared of the secular world outside. They had forgotten the words of the Lord because they let their temporary circumstances blind them. And Thomas? Thomas wasn’t even there when Jesus first showed up. When the others told him Jesus was alive, Thomas let his carnal mind take over, demanding to see and touch the nail prints before he would believe. For eight long days, Thomas sat in that unbelief, waking up every single morning and repeatedly rehearsing his doubt and torment in his mind. He let his situation dictate his faith. When I think about Thomas sitting there for eight days letting his circumstances weigh him down, I’m reminded of the wisdom of my Grandpa Harry: “In life, you get bitter or you get better.” Thomas was just sitting there getting bitter and getting spiritually hangry, completely forgetting that we are in a daily spiritual war between Biblical truth and secular compromise!

Now, I’m not here to make you upset, but to preach the truth! Your opinion does not Trump the word of God! The Word says in Isaiah 40:8 that the grass withers and the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever. When God says a thing, it is an absolute mandate! Jesus had already told them in advance that He would rise again. But instead of obedience, Thomas chose compromise; he chose to walk by sight instead of by faith. But it is written in Hebrews 11:1 that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

But here is the beautiful reality of this message: Jesus doesn’t leave us in our doubt; He meets us right there. After those eight days, Jesus stepped right through those shut doors, stood in their midst, and greeted them by saying, “Peace be with you”. Everybody say, “Peace!” Only Jesus, the Prince of Peace from Isaiah 9:6, can offer you that true peace. And catch this, church—He came back just for Thomas. Just like the parable in Luke 15 where the shepherd leaves the ninety-nine in the open country to go after the one lost sheep, Jesus went after Thomas. Thomas was the one He was looking for, and today, you might be that one.

Jesus looks right at Thomas and commands him, “Bring your finger here, and see My hands; and bring your hand here and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing”. You see, faith is an active fight requiring obedience and works, not just sitting back in passivity! Jesus is commanding him to take physical action. Let me tell somebody right now: You’re not waiting on God, God is waiting on you! The Christian way is a life of active faith; in order to hold onto the promises of God, you’ve got to actually believe them and live by them. Thomas finally recognized the absolute authority of the living Christ and cried out, “My Lord and my God!”.

So church, it’s time to stop the compromise. It’s time to step into absolute obedience to the Word of God. The Gospel of John tells us these things were written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.

WILL YOU STOP DOUBTING AND START BELIEVING?

Thank you so much for joining us today. The discussion is designed to unpack the profound truth that Jesus is alive and actively meets believers exactly where they are, even in the middle of their deepest doubts and fears. By highlighting the personal journeys of biblical figures like Mary Magdalene—a woman with a troubled past who became the very first witness to the risen Christ—and the disciple Thomas, the audio offers a relatable look at how faith can falter when we let our circumstances overwhelm us.

The Eight Days of Torment Listeners will discover the psychological and spiritual toll of doubt through the story of Thomas, who demanded to physically see and touch the nail scars before he would believe the other disciples. The audio delves into how Thomas suffered through eight agonizing days of unbelief, repeatedly rehearsing his doubts and allowing the enemy to create a playground of torment in his mind.

The Choice: Bitter or Better? The discussion features a highly relatable, practical lesson passed down from the pastor’s grandfather: when facing pain and disappointment in life, you are presented with a choice to either get “bitter” or get “better”. The audio will tease how listeners can avoid letting fear and human understanding lock them in a prison of bitterness, and instead learn to trust God’s promises over their personal wounds to achieve the “better” outcome.

The Pursuit of the One A major hook for the audience is the beautiful reality that Jesus intentionally pursues the skeptic. The audio explores how Jesus mirrored the parable of the shepherd leaving the ninety-nine sheep to go after the one that was lost. Even while the disciples were hiding behind locked doors for fear of the outside world, Jesus miraculously stepped into their midst to offer them His divine peace, ultimately returning a week later specifically to seek out Thomas.

The Faith Activation Plan To provide practical value that listeners can apply to their daily lives, the audio outlines Pastor Jon’s three-step biblical plan for overcoming daily unbelief: Trust His Heart (rooted in Proverbs 3:5-6), Trust His Word (anchored in Isaiah 40:8 and John 1:1), and Activate Your Faith (based on Hebrews 11:1). Listeners will be encouraged to tune in to learn how to actively command fear to leave and faith to rise.

Call to Action: Are you ready to silence the voice of fear, stop doubting, and start believing? The disciples experienced exactly this kind of paralyzing trauma after the crucifixion of Jesus. Despite Jesus previously telling them in the Old Testament that He would rise from the grave, the disciples were so consumed by “hurt” and “fear” that they forgot His promises “in the middle of their circumstances”. Their trauma caused them to completely lose their faith that Jesus would conquer death.

This mental and emotional struggle is most visible in the story of Thomas. After missing Jesus’s first appearance to the disciples, Thomas laid out strict, fleshly conditions for his belief: he needed to physically see and touch the nail prints in Jesus’s hands and side. For eight solid days, Thomas sat in a state of absolute “torment” and doubt. His mind was essentially stuck in a loop of trauma and disbelief; he was “waking up” every single day and “rehearsing repeatedly in His mind” that Jesus couldn’t possibly be alive.

So, how do we break free when our minds are endlessly rehearsing doubt and fear? The message outlines three clear, biblical steps to overcome unbelief:

* Trust in the Lord: Proverbs 3:5-6 urges us to trust God with all our hearts rather than leaning on our own limited, trauma-clouded understanding.

* Trust in His Word: As Isaiah 40:8 reminds us, our feelings and circumstances will fade, but the Word of God stands forever.

* Look at Faith: Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as the substance of what we hope for and the evidence of things we cannot yet see. Overcoming doubt requires actively living by the promises of God, not just waiting for physical proof.

The beautiful conclusion to Thomas’s eight days of mental torment is that Jesus didn’t abandon him to his doubts. Jesus entered the locked room and greeted him with, “Peace be with you,” demonstrating that He alone is the Prince of Peace prophesied in Isaiah 9:6. Jesus went out of His way just for Thomas, much like the shepherd in Luke 15 who leaves the ninety-nine to rescue the one lost sheep. When our minds are processing deep doubt and trauma, Jesus is the only one who can offer true peace and meet us exactly where we are.

This is a public episode. Introduction: The Tension of the Empty Tomb

The empty tomb is the ultimate psychological disruption. Even when we are presented with the best news imaginable—victory over death itself—the human heart often recoils into a defensive crouch of skepticism. We live in the tension between what we hope is true and what our trauma tells us is possible.

This tension is often masked by religious tradition, as illustrated by a classic Easter story. St. Peter is at the Pearly Gates, quizzing three candidates on the meaning of the holiday. The first candidate guesses it’s about turkey and mashed potatoes (Thanksgiving). The second describes a tree and presents (Christmas). The third finally nails the narrative: “Easter is when Christ was crucified, placed in a cave with a huge boulder, and three days later the rock was rolled away.” But then comes the punchline that ruins the substance: “And if Jesus comes out and sees His shadow, we’ve got three more weeks of winter!”

While we laugh, the irony is biting. Like the third candidate, many of us can recite the “facts” of the resurrection while still living in the shadows of superstition or tradition, missing the transformative substance of the living Christ. The account in John 20 is not just a historical record; it is a strategic roadmap for moving from the “winter” of doubt into the “big show” of belief.

2. The Resurrection: Giving the Cross Its Meaning

Theologically, we often focus on the cross, but the resurrection is the “preshow before the big show.” Without the empty tomb, the crucifixion is merely a tragic end to a noble life. To understand the necessity of this victory, we must synthesize the full weight of what occurred on that hill.

“Without the resurrection, the cross is meaningless. The cross shows us the seriousness of our sin—but it also shows us the immeasurable love of God. God proved His love on the Cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, ‘I love you.’” — Billy Graham

The cross is where God proves His heart; the resurrection is where He proves His power. If the cross demonstrates the gravity of human sin, the resurrection demonstrates God’s authority over the consequences of that sin. One provides the “I love you,” but the other provides the “I have overcome.”

3. Grace for the “Unlikely” First Witness

One of the most profound subversions of cultural expectation in the Gospel is that Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdalene. In the first century, the testimony of a woman was often legally and socially discounted. Furthermore, the source context reminds us that Mary was a woman with a “difficult and troubled past.”

By choosing Mary as the first witness, Jesus executed a masterful “content strategy” of grace. He bypassed the powerful and the “perfect” to meet someone in her brokenness. This choice signals that the resurrection is not for the spiritually elite, but for those who know the depth of their need. Jesus doesn’t just deliver news; He delivers it through the very person the world would have silenced.

4. The Danger of Circumstantial Amnesia

There is a tragic irony in John 20:19. The disciples, who had been told personally by Jesus that He would rise again, were found hiding behind shut doors “for fear.” Despite having the absolute ground truth, they were suffering from what we might call “circumstantial amnesia.”

This is a universal human “glitch.” When the “evening” falls and the “doors are shut”—when the darkness of our current situation becomes overwhelming—we tend to forget the Word of God spoken in the light. Their hurt and fear blinded them to the promise. They allowed the weight of their current circumstance to override the permanence of Christ’s previous instructions.

5. The Anatomy of a Doubter: Thomas’s Eight-Day Torment

Thomas is frequently maligned as “Doubting Thomas,” but his history suggests a more complex character. In John 11:16, we see a man of “devoted realism” who told his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, so that we may die with Him.” His doubt wasn’t born of apathy; it was born of discouraged devotion. He was willing to die for Jesus, but he wasn’t prepared for Jesus to die for him and then return.

When Thomas set his conditions—to see and touch the wounds—he entered “eight days of torment.” For over a week, while others rejoiced, Thomas was trapped in a cycle of rehearsing his pain. He wasn’t rehearsing the promises; he was rehearsing the trauma. He was likely replaying the sound of the hammer, the sight of the spear, and the finality of the tomb. Doubt is often a repetitive rehearsal of the impossible rather than a meditation on the Promised.

6. The God Who Leaves the 99 for One

The beauty of the Gospel is found in John 20:26-27. Jesus didn’t stay away because Thomas doubted; He returned specifically for him. This is the living embodiment of the Parable of the Lost Sheep (Luke 15:3-6). Jesus, the Good Shepherd, left the “ninety-nine” rejoicing disciples to find the one who was lost in his own mind.

Notably, Jesus didn’t enter the room with a rebuke. He met Thomas’s skepticism with the same greeting He gave the others: “Peace be with you.” As the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), He offered Thomas the very thing his “rehearsal of doubt” had destroyed. He invited Thomas to touch the scars, proving that He is a God who is not offended by our questions, but is moved by our need for encounter.

7. The Blueprint for Overcoming Unbelief

Overcoming unbelief is not about trying harder; it is about a strategic shift in focus. To move past “circumstantial amnesia,” we must implement a three-pillar defense:

* Trust in the Lord: We must intentionally stop leaning on our own limited logic and finite understanding. Proverbs 3:5-6 directs us to trust with the whole heart, acknowledging that God’s perspective exceeds our current horizon.

* Trust in the Word: While circumstances wither like grass, the Word of God stands forever (Isaiah 40:8). We must decide if the Word (John 1:1) is our ultimate authority or if our feelings are.

* The Substance of Faith: According to Hebrews 11:1, faith is the “substance” and the “evidence.” It is the move from the “shadows” of tradition to the solid ground of acting on what God has said, even before the physical evidence is visible.

8. Conclusion: A Life of Faith

The Gospel of John was written with a specific, curated purpose: “that you may believe... and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:31). The signs and wonders were not for entertainment; they were evidence provided so that we might step into a new reality.

“The Christian way is a life of faith, and in order to hold on to the promises of God, you’ve got to believe them and live by them.”

The story of the empty tomb is an invitation to exit the cycle of rehearsing our fears and begin the active work of believing the promises. The doors are no longer shut, and the Prince of Peace is standing in our midst.

WILL YOU STOP DOUBTING AND START BELIEVING?

Thanks for reading! When the crowds waved palm branches and shouted “Hosanna” (meaning “Save us now”), they were actually looking for a nationalistic, messianic liberator to overthrow the Roman government. They expected a mighty warrior to arrive on a white horse to violently conquer their political oppressors, but Jesus instead chose to ride a lowly donkey, fulfilling the 500-year-old prophecy of Zechariah 9:9 and revealing Himself as the ultimate Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).

This historical event wasn’t just a parade; it was a direct clash between the Kingdom of God and worldly political expectations. Just as the Pharisees were offended and tried to silence the people’s worship back then, today’s secular culture constantly tries to silence the Church. We must refuse to cower down, bow our knees to a woke generation, or compromise our biblical faith. Praise is not an option—it is a mandatory weapon of spiritual warfare that silences the enemy and breaks the spirit of heaviness. I’m not here to make you upset, but to preach the truth. The world wants you to believe that your circumstances dictate your joy, but we are engaged in a spiritual war of Biblical obedience versus secular compromise. When we look at the question of whether praise is a weapon or an anchor, we have to look directly at what Scripture commands.

The Bible says that praise is unequivocally a weapon that silences the enemy. It is written in Isaiah 61:3 that God provides “the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness,” completely removing the weight and despair the enemy tries to put on us. Fear cannot coexist with genuine worship; praise is the exact weapon that stops fear from taking over our lives. Your opinion does not trump the Word of God—and the Word reveals that your praise actively keeps the enemy away. During Jesus’ triumphal entry, the Pharisees saw the immense praise and adoration the people had for Him, and because of that praise, they could not bother Him, admitting, “look, the world has gone after Him”. [Direct Command: ‘Look at your neighbor and say, Can I get an amen?’].

However, praise also grounds us and anchors our faith while we are in the middle of our storms. As Grandpa Harry always used to say, “In life, you get bitter or you get better”. If you want to see a change in your situation, you have to make praise a priority. There is a profound truth we must remember: “When we complain about our current situation, we remain in it; When we praise God in the midst of difficulty, He praises us out of it”. Praise anchors our focus, allowing us to look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, instead of drowning in our current situations. It stabilizes our spirit and creates an atmosphere for signs and wonders to take place.

Praise is not a passive feeling; praise is a choice and a necessary action. It is mentioned 120 times in the book of Psalms alone. The Bible says we are to walk by faith, not by sight, which means we praise God before we even see the completion of our prayers. Whether you are just waking up, walking around your house, or putting clothes on your back, He is worthy of all the praise. You’re not waiting on God, God is waiting on you. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Will you praise Him?

#PraiseAndTell #PraiseIsAWeapon #SpiritualWarfare #GodIsGoodAllTheTime #WalkByFaithNotBySight #FaithOverFear #AnchorOfFaith #JesusIsKing #FearNot #GarmentOfPraise #ChoosePraise #BiblicalObedience

This is a public episode. Between the frantic scrolling of social feeds and the relentless 24-hour news cycle, it’s easy to feel submerged in a collective “spirit of heaviness.” Whether it is global tension in the Middle East or the localized “craziness” of our own neighborhood politics, the modern moment feels like a constant intersection of chaos and confusion.

Our natural instinct when life gets loud is to fight back with equal volume—to argue, to retreat, or to compromise our convictions to fit a “woke” generation that demands silence from the faithful. But what if the solution isn’t fighting harder, but speaking differently? The framework of “Praise and Tell” suggests that our voices are not just tools for communication, but instruments of spiritual recalibration. When we choose to praise, we aren’t just singing songs; we are changing the atmosphere.

1. Praise as a Strategic Weapon

In contemporary culture, we’ve sanitized praise into a mere musical expression—a polite “thank you” for when things go well. But the reality is far more gritty. In the economy of faith, praise is a tactical maneuver designed to disrupt the whispers of discouragement that fill our minds during seasons of stress.

When we vocalize the greatness of God, we effectively build a barricade against cultural conformity. It is a refusal to cower. As we see in the lives of those who refused to bow to the “fires” of their time, praise acts as a shield. It moves our internal focus from the magnitude of the obstacle to the sovereignty of the Solution.

“Let praise be a weapon that silences the enemy.”

2. The “Parking Lot” Principle (The Necessity of Expression)

There is a profound irony in how we often wait for the “perfect” moment to express gratitude. Consider the Triumphal Entry: Jesus didn’t arrive on a white warhorse to crush the Roman Empire; He arrived on a donkey, a deliberate symbol of peace. Even then, the religious elite tried to silence the crowd’s “Hosanna.”

Jesus’ response was a humorous but haunting warning: if humanity refuses to recognize and vocalize the truth, the environment itself will take over the job. This is the “Parking Lot” Principle. Whether it’s the rising of the sun or the place where it sets, creation is already in a state of worship. We were created for this specific assignment. If we don’t do it, we risk being outshined by the very stones beneath our feet.

As the old story goes, even an atheist trying to mock a starving woman’s prayer by secretly buying her groceries can’t stop the praise. When she thanked God for the food, and the atheist jumped out to say, “God didn’t buy those, I did!” she simply cried out, “Praise God! He provided the groceries and made the devil pay for them!”

“The parking lot will out praise you if you don’t do it yourself.”

3. The Gossip/Praise Paradox

One of the most immediate litmus tests of our spiritual health is the tongue. There is a biological and spiritual impossibility at play here: you cannot engage in authentic praise while simultaneously participating in gossip.

We are often masters of the “religious gossip” move—masking a smear campaign as a “prayer request” or “sharing a concern.” But the tongue holds the power of life and death. True praise acts as a corrective, forcing us to choose the fruit of life over the fruit of division. You cannot build the kingdom of God with one breath and tear down its citizens with the next.

You cannot gossip and praise at the same time.

4. The Logic of “Praise Before Completion”

The most counter-intuitive aspect of this lifestyle is the timing. Most people wait for the breakthrough to offer thanks. They wait for the clean pathology report, the signed legal resolution, or the restored marriage. But the principle of “walking by faith, not by sight” requires us to praise while we are still in the waiting room.

Praising in the midst of difficulty—whether you are standing in a lawyer’s office, sitting in a doctor’s exam room, or picking up your kids from jail—is not a reaction to a blessing. It is the catalyst for being lifted out of the pit. It is a declaration that the outcome is already secured by a higher authority, regardless of the current “sight.”

“When you praise God in the midst of difficulty, he praises us out of it.”

5. “Praise and Tell” — The Miracle Connection

Praise is our vertical connection, but “telling” is the horizontal vehicle that carries that miracle to others. Think of Lazarus. He was a “dead man walking around,” and it was his very existence—his testimony—that caused the crowds to seek Jesus.

The modern world has become silent because it has lost its story. When we “tell” what we’ve seen, we bridge the gap between an ancient text and a modern need. When the church rises up to share hope unconditionally, it provides three essential anchors for a drifting culture:

* Hope for the Hopeless: A testimony proves that the current “dead end” isn’t the final destination.

* A Future for the Stuck: It demonstrates that restoration is possible even when you feel pinned down by your past.

* Unconditional Love for the Outcast: It reminds the “smelly fishermen” and the outcasts of the world that they are the very people Jesus chooses to build His kingdom.

Conclusion: A Final Breath

The philosophy of “Praise and Tell” is a reminder that as long as there is breath in your lungs, you have an active assignment. You aren’t just a spectator in a chaotic world; you are an atmosphere-changer. The ancient command remains total: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”

In a world trying to silence you through chaos and compromise, your voice is your greatest asset. Whether you are facing a “spirit of heaviness” today or standing on a mountain of victory, you have a choice to make regarding your circumstances. Will you let the noise of the world silence you, or will you use your breath to recalibrate the world around you?

What will you choose to say today?Visit BeTheLightTPC.com

This is a public episode. Look at your neighbor and say, "God created it!". He didn't need evolution; He just spoke, and it happened, come on somebody!. We see that God looked at everything He made and called it "good," and when He made human beings in His own image—male and female—He called it "very good". I might talk fast sometimes and get a little foggy, but I want you to catch this: you are fearfully and wonderfully made, and you are no accident. You know, I was thinking about my Grandpa Harry the other day. He always used to say, "You get bitter or you get better." It's easy to get bitter looking at the world, but we are called to be the light. God set up a perfect design where He promises to supply all our needs, just like He provided for everything in the garden. He knows the end from the beginning, and He wants us producing good fruit. If you've stepped off the wrong path, today is a good day to get a fresh start and return to God's original, perfect plan for your life. Let's give the Lord a hand clap for His Word!.Keywords/Hashtags: #Genesis1 #BackToTheBeginning #Creation #GodIsGood #FirmFoundation #BeTheLight #TPCScottsburgIf you would like to hear more messages, learn about our ministries, or plan a visit, we invite you to connect with us online at BeTheLightTPC.com.

This is a public episode.
