"Winter, Spring, Summer & Fall" is a nostalgic country-folk ballad inspired by memories of growing up poor in rural Canada during the 1950s. Through laundry days, wringer washers, cloth diapers, black-and-white television, and endless chores, a mother's resilience becomes the heart of the story. While children found adventure in the everyday, she carried the burden of keeping eight children clothed, fed, and safe.

The song follows the changing seasons but reveals a deeper truth: no matter the weather, a mother's work never stopped. The image of her hanging laundry alone in the darkness before her husband returned home becomes a powerful symbol of sacrifice, endurance, and love.
