From conversations with personal trainers to daily experiments with food, workouts and tracking what works, I talk about the reality of getting lean enough for your abs to show and what I am learning along the way.

This is not about perfection. It is about consistency, paying attention to your body and finding a way of eating and training that works for you. I also share why I believe the biggest changes happen in the kitchen, how I am approaching healthy fats, and why getting the abs is only part of the challenge. Keeping them may be the real test.In this episode, I share an update on my six-pack abs journey and where I am right now.

I talk about the advice I have received from personal trainers, including why nutrition plays such a big role in body composition and how strengthening your core with resistance can support your progress.

I share what I have learned about balancing fats throughout the day, how I pay attention to the foods that support my goals, and why every day feels like a new experiment. Each morning starts with the same question: am I there yet?

I also explain how my weight began to drop as my training increased, how I use AI to help me track what I am eating, and why I see getting visible abs as a science project that requires testing, adjusting and paying attention to the details.

Finally, I talk about conversations with younger women at the gym who already have six-packs and what they told me about maintaining them once you get there. Because for me, the journey does not end when the abs arrive. The next challenge is keeping them and sharing everything I learn along the way.

This is a public episode. I’ve been speaking to personal trainers, women in the gym who already have a six-pack, and paying close attention to what works for my own body.

Every day feels like a bit of an experiment. Looking at food differently, understanding fats, balancing what I eat, paying attention to what changes and what doesn’t, and learning how much of this process comes down to consistency.

I’m getting closer, but the challenge isn’t only getting the six-pack. It’s understanding what it takes to maintain it once it’s there.

This is a public episode. What I’ve learned is that your core is much bigger than that. It includes your back, your glutes and everything around your middle that supports movement, strength and stability.

For me, building that inner unit came first.

I’ve spent years learning functional movement patterns and strengthening my body from the inside out. Before focusing on the outside muscles, I wanted to create a strong foundation that would allow me to move better, lift heavier and perform exercises properly.

I also share some of the simple ways I test my own progress and how certain movements quickly reveal where strength still needs to be developed.

The first week of this challenge was not about endless workouts. It was about food.

I started paying close attention to what I was eating, how much I was eating and how my body responded. One of the biggest surprises was what happened when I reduced my healthy fats. I wasn’t removing them completely, but I cut back and immediately noticed changes in my body composition.

Instead of eating automatically, I became more aware of my portions, slowed down while eating and paid attention to what my body was telling me.

Protein also became a major focus. As we get older, maintaining muscle becomes increasingly important, and I explain why finding the right balance for your own body matters.

The second part of the journey was movement.

I knew I didn’t want to spend my time doing exercises that felt repetitive or boring, so I decided to do something different. I hired a boxing coach and started hitting the pads.

Boxing challenged my body in ways I wasn’t expecting. It pushed my cardiovascular fitness, engaged my core and gave me something that was fun, interesting and exciting to work towards.

Most importantly, it reminded me that staying committed to a goal becomes much easier when you genuinely enjoy the process.

This episode is an honest look at what I’ve been learning so far, what has surprised me and what it is really taking to create a body that I love in my 50s.

If you’re working towards your own health goals, rebuilding your strength or simply becoming more aware of how your body responds to food and movement, I hope this conversation gives you something useful to think about.

This is a public episode.
