In 2024, she was honored with the President’s Excellence Award at GateWay.</p><p>Laura is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Arizona Physical Therapy Association, where she has served as the PTA Caucus representative over several years. In 2024, she was recognized as the PTA of the Year by the Arizona Physical Therapy Association.</p><p>Recently, Laura has become involved in research and was awarded a Horizon Grant to complete an interdisciplinary project investigating the effects of a novel electrical stimulation device on sleep improvement for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Michael Morgan PT, DPT, OCS highlights an experience that reminds us why mastering the basics might be the most advanced thing you can do. </p><p>Michael Morgan PT, DPT, OCS is an Assistant Clinical Professor within the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training at Northern Arizona University (NAU) based out of the Phoenix Bioscience Core (PBC). Dr. Morgan has been a practicing physical therapist since 2013 providing physical therapy services in outpatient orthopedics and occupational health settings. He is an ABPTS Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) and has completed advanced certifications in manual therapy, dry needling, blood flow restriction, ultrasound imaging, and is an APTA Certified Clinical Instructor. He is actively involved in the American Physical Therapy Association Orthopedic and Education sections. His scholarship is focused on analyzing the benefits of early access to physical therapy services in occupational healthcare, ultrasound imaging, and student outcomes within a competency-based education model. Dr. Morgan is passionate about teaching anatomy, biomechanics, musculoskeletal, and vestibular material. James applied his knowledge as a professor of spinal orthopedics in a DPT program in NYC. Throughout his career as a physical therapist, he has focused specifically on outpatient orthopedics including weekend warriors, elite performance athletes and performing artists – mainly professional ballet dancers and Broadway performers.
