Clasped hands. Green sprouts pressing through winter earth. A sun held between mountain peaks. Two hands reaching toward one another, not quite touching. Each image personal, and yet — as heads nodded and smiles spread across faces — unmistakably shared.

In this reflection, I explore what that gathering revealed about hope: that it isn't something distant or waiting to be earned. It's already alive inside you, the way spring is quietly active beneath frozen ground long before anything is visible. Drawing on the wisdom of Chinese medicine's Wood element and the spirit of Alchemy, I invite you into the energy of this season — emergence, new beginnings, and what becomes possible when we simply pause long enough to remember.

This is an invitation to find your own symbol. And then to look for it — and all the others — in the world around you.

Hope is not in short supply. We simply need eyes and hearts open enough to catch its glimmer.

Listen in, then share in the comments — what symbol came to you?

Listen time: 9:26.

This is a public episode. In this reading, I share a deeply personal story woven around the Swedish tradition of Saint Lucia—a celebration where someone dressed in white carries a crown of candles through the December darkness. From being held as a baby in the arms of our exchange student to experiencing profound darkness as a teenager in Sweden, this is a story about living transformation before we understand it, and discovering that we don't wait for the light—we become it.

Listen time: 7:53 minutes

This is a public episode. With TELEPHONE inscribed beneath the emblem of a crown, these iconic booths are recognized throughout the world. On a recent trip to London, I came across a pair on the sidewalk across from Hyde Park. A notice affixed to the center glass above the PUSH sign read: *This kiosk is protected for future generations.*

There was no phone inside. Technology has advanced considerably since the days of stepping into a contained space to use a corded telephone.

I paused to take a photo, fascinated by what I was witnessing: a deliberate choice about what to preserve and what to release.

-----

Most of the clients I work with are lineage breakers. They’re committed to disrupting harmful family patterns—not by erasing the past, but by consciously choosing what to carry forward.

For many, the work begins with a desire for personal freedom: freedom from relentless thoughts, the heavy downward spiral of depression, or the frenetic energy of anxiety. Freedom from fear that grips the body and paralyzes decision-making. Freedom from habitual responses to numb, dissociate, or become hypervigilant.

But beyond their own liberation, these clients recognize something profound: their experience is part of a longer trail. The patterns didn’t start with them. They’ve been running on autopilot—largely undetected—since their parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and sometimes generations further back were navigating their own journeys.

These clients feel called to do the inner work not just for themselves, but to create a new way of relating and experiencing life within their families and cultures. They’re committed to releasing cyclic habits while honoring what deserves to be kept.

-----

Like that red phone booth on a London street.

The structure itself—the craftsmanship, the design, the cultural memory it holds—is worth protecting. But the conversations that once happened inside? Some of those old scripts, those inherited ways of speaking to ourselves and each other, those unexamined beliefs passed down through the telephone lines of family history—those we can choose to update.

Sometimes we keep the booth and update what’s inside. Sometimes the entire structure needs reimagining. The work is in discerning the difference—and making space for something new.

-----

This is where true innovation begins.

Not from rejecting everything that came before, but from understanding clearly what’s working and what isn’t—and being willing to take steps in a new direction of possibility. My clients are committed to this kind of innovation. Whether they’re welcoming a new grandchild into the world and determined to offer something different, holding a vision for a revolutionary idea that requires them to show up differently, or working toward the advancement of their business or the deepening of a relationship—they know that creating something new requires both honoring the foundation and being brave enough to build beyond it.

They’re not waiting for permission. They’re not waiting for the pattern to magically shift on its own.

They’re stepping into the phone booth of themselves and their lineage, doing the deep internal work required for true transformation. They’re assessing what’s there with honesty and compassion, and consciously deciding what stays and what goes. They’re making room for new conversations, new possibilities, new ways of being.

-----

For Further Reflection:

What are you holding on to because you’ve convinced yourself the shift you sense within is impossible?

What are you carrying from your lineage that’s weighing you down or perpetuating pain?

And what’s worth protecting—worth revisioning—for future generations?

-----

Envisioning what’s possible for you, and smiling… Emily

This is a public episode. From sidewalk conversations in northern Washington to quiet moments in a Parisian apartment, she’s witnessed how a field of sacredness and safety can emerge, allowing nervous systems to relax and inner wisdom to surface.

Drawing on her training in Daoist alchemy while recognizing this capacity existed long before any formal practice, Emily invites us into an honest inquiry: What kind of field are you holding and generating? Once we become aware of the energy we emanate, we can choose to cultivate the qualities that create openness, safety, and transformational possibility for others.

This is quiet work that won’t make headlines—but it has the power to change everything.

Key Themes:

* The power of presence as an alchemical force

* Creating sacred space for others to access their truth

* Recognizing gifts that are so intrinsic we overlook them

* The energetic fields we generate in our daily lives

* How safety allows the nervous system to relax and wisdom to emerge

Reflection Question: What kind of field are you holding and generating as you move through the world?

This is a public episode. She shares her approach to transformation work that meets accomplished individuals at their threshold and facilitates their journey to the next level of integration, clarity, and aliveness.

Key Themes

The Paradox of Accomplished Growth

* Many successful people have invested deeply in their development

* Despite visible results in career, relationships, and impact, something remains just out of reach

* The search for a level of integration or clarity that previous work hasn’t quite touched

The Myth of Having It All Figured Out

* Emily’s personal revelation that everyone is figuring it out as they go

* Recognition that decades of internal work create transformation, even when it’s not visible on the surface

* The biggest transformations often can’t be seen or fully understood by others

Working at the Threshold

* When you’ve done significant work, you’re not starting from zero—you’re standing at a threshold

* Ready for something that goes deeper than conventional coaching or therapy

* The next layer only becomes visible once you’ve done all the previous work

Meeting and Raising

* Emily’s approach: seeing your bet and raising you

* Meeting clients exactly where they are

* Facilitating a path that elevates beyond what they can currently see for themselves

Featured Example

A recent two-day intensive with a visionary client who had worked with incredible practitioners but still felt simultaneously accomplished and stuck. By the end, he accessed something entirely new—not because he hadn’t been doing the work, but because he was finally ready for this particular work.

Core Message

For those who have done the work and know there’s more, who are at their wits’ end wondering where to turn next, or who simply sense another level calling to them—this is the territory Emily guides people through. The transformation at this level isn’t always something others can witness or validate, but you feel it. And once you experience it, everything shifts.

Memorable Quote

“The biggest transformations often can’t be seen or fully understood by others. And for people who’ve spent their lives excelling in the outer world, building, leading, innovating, turning inward to this degree is entirely new territory.”

The reward is beyond what you can currently conceive, and you’re more ready than you know.

This is a public episode. The dahlias teach us that strategic pruning isn't about loss—it's about creating energetic space for fuller expression.

In this reflection, I explore:

Why abundant blooming requires regular cutting back

How each plant's unique growth pattern mirrors our own journey

The difference between healthy pruning and depletion

What might be ready for loving release in your own life

Like these dahlias, you have your own distinct way of creating beauty in the world. Perhaps there are outdated patterns, relationships, or ways of being that no longer align with your evolving nature—not from scarcity, but to allow what's waiting to emerge.

This isn't about deprivation. It's about understanding the rhythm of creation itself.

From my garden to yours. 🌸

This is a public episode.
