magical land, on a magical plane

Lived a magical girl and her magical ways

And each time she traveled from space down to earth

She bought a lesson for all humans and a chance for rebirth

Beatrice Delight was her name, but her friends called her Bea

And she had many powers, many things she could see

And she used these powers to bring earth more light

Because more light was needed, which she bought with delight

She would travel with her little dog by the name of Chickpea

A scruffy little misfit, just like her owner Bea

As she traveled from Mintaka, her home far away

A place where whales and humans would play

A planet where peace was the vibe of the land

And all was so pure, even down to the sand

With her long white hair full of crystals and shells

And clothes long and flowing made of pretty pastels

Her eyes were so wide and as blue as the ocean

Her skin scaled and freckled; her bag full of potions

For each journey to earth she’d use one talent each time

She trusted the slowness, and the need to be kind

And this time as she moved through space down to earth

She used her magical scaly skin for this work

As her feet touched the ground she saw faces of gloom

She sighed and yawned to help herself adjust to the room 1

People seemed nervous at first to speak to Bea

Perhaps they were concerned about what she might see

But to their surprise as they’d speak her skin would shimmer

And instead of speaking she’d turn into a mirror

And as they continued to share their woes and worries

Bea would simply nod with hushed tones helping build their courage 2

For Bea was not there today to offer advice or to see

She was there to help them be the earthling they needed to be

Each person had come with their own emotion or worry

Something they felt ashamed of or for which they felt sorry

As one person spoke of the shame that she felt

The mirror twinkled to show her how forgiveness could help

“Forgiving yourself is a hard thing to do,

Especially when those feelings live deep inside you.”

Another spoke of the blame she put onto another

And as her eyes caught the mirror she saw how she would recover

“The blame you point at others is still there within your bones

A shadow that’s been triggered, to call your soul home. 3

One person shared that she felt anger indeed

A feeling that made her hot headed and seethe

Sometimes the anger would build like a rage

And she’d let rip like an animal bursting out of a cage

“This anger you feel has been inside for some time

It’s not a part of your personality to cover and hide. 4

“That rage that you feel is asking to be unleashed

And the less you listen daily, the more you will see that beast

And as the room started to see the healing that can happen

They all lined up to remember what they had long forgotten

And one by one as they started to see

The emotions they came in with began to ease

Bea didn’t say all that much to each of them as they stood

And spoke of their problems to see if it did any good

One man came in looking all puffed up and arrogant

He’d attended a private school in a place he called Harrogate

Full of long words and explanations aplenty

When he sat at the mirror he saw himself in his 20’s

After a terrifying ordeal where his father passed away

He’d taken it upon himself to carry his energy this way

Needing to take on the load of the family

And big himself up so he could live happily 5

But as he stood still and saw himself in the mirror

It was his eyes that indeed started to shimmer

The release of the tears showed Bea all she needed to know

This was someone wearing a costume and acting in a show 6

“It’s ok, it is safe, to be who you want to be

You have nothing to prove, what is it you see?”

The man replied “I’ve lost the fun part of myself

I haven’t laughed in so long, thank you for your help. 7

And with that he broke out of his arrogant demeanor

Smiled and said thanks, knowing why he needed to see her

As he left the room he looked a lot calmer and lighter

Even his white smile shined a little bit brighter

Another person stepped forward to use her mirrored skin

Stating “It’s not very often I look at what’s hidden within”

A mind so full of self doubt and pin pointed control

Is a mind weighed down by the heaviness of it all 8

“Our brains are not there to overload them with baggage

When we expect too much of our minds we cause ourselves damage”

“A good way to think of your mind or your head

Is to imagine it as a viewing platform,” Bea said

“And instead of expecting everything to work out

You watch all the opportunities and options play out.”

“But don’t get caught in the trap of that same viewing mind,

climb down from the platform that turned your intuition blind. 9

“Make decisions instead from feelings or sense

Help your mind out and stop it feeling too intense”

As the lightbulb went on in the mind of that person

They realised they could live as a newly healed version

Their mind did not hold all the answers they sought

But their body had a whole heap of tools for them to resort 10

The final person on Earth that Bea saw that day

Was a woman who’d bitten all her nails away

She worried and panicked and breathed so short

That her body had started to shrink and contort 11

It was like she’d become a shell of herself

And constantly swallowed her cries for help

Always taught to be seen and not heard, never make a fuss

Had caused her to go within on herself and almost combust 12

Bea taught her to breathe before she looked in the mirror

So she could hold and feel the emotions she would see there

And as soon as the woman breathed three deep breaths

Grief lept from her shoulders and from her body it left

Just this simple action didn’t mean she was healed

But it meant she was finally able to feel

And from the feeling she could start to defrost and thaw

All the emotions inside her that were still so raw

“These feelings attach to memories I’d blocked out long ago,

I see now it’s time to begin processing the memories below.

“I can’t keep blaming others for what I feel

I see from the mirror that to feel is to heal.” 13

But no matter what other worries people lined up with that day

Beas humble ability to mirror was a gift from far away

“If earth beings could learn to listen and not react,

They’d get along better,” Chickpea agreed with a yap.

All they really needed to do was see themselves

But life on earth was so busy they needed Beas mirror to help

Someone to say ‘stop’ and shine a light on their darkest parts

To help them heal on their own and find their light in the dark

And as the day turned to darkness and the stars began to sparkle

Bea and Chickpea packed up their belongings without debacle

They hopped in their spaceship, content with the day

And flew off to Mintaka, their home far, far away.

Written by Rebecca Lovatt

Notes for messaging

* Did you know? Yawning isn’t lazy or a sign you’re tired, but a sign that your body is relaxing and rebalancing its energy.

* Stories told in safe places are as healing as giving any advice. Practice your skill of listening each day. Sometimes we say it best when we say nothing at all.

* Sometimes the most annoying things we see in other people are just a reflection of what we feel about ourselves.

* Emotions like anger aren’t part of who we are as a person. Sometimes we just need to feel the emotion and use it as fuel, rather than letting it bubble and boil.

* The emotions we show people aren’t always how we feel

* Sometimes we feel safe putting on a front or a show to others rather than just be honest with how we feel. This has historically been shown as being vulnerable and unsafe.

* Often when people are down they’ve forgotten how to have fun and do things like sing, dance and play. Life has become too serious and overwhelming.

* Our heads can easily become a mess of tangled spaghetti and we need to get better at draining the weight in there.

* We spend so much time in our heads trying to figure everything out that we miss the opportunity to just live from the rest of our body. To touch, to feel, to smell, to sense, to taste… we have so many other ways to make decisions and create safety, not just from our brains.

* Mindfulness is a fantastic practice for bringing yourself back to the body after periods of overwhelm. See, taste, touch, feel, smell and listen to prevent brain overwhelm.

* Anxiety can present in many different ways, but often it will look like shallow breathing, constant nail biting, and a heightened sense of alertness.

* People pleasing can harm our nervous system and create a false sense of safety. If you don’t want to do something and it feels unsafe, say no for you, not yes for someone else.

* Somatic healing involves moving and breathing through stored memories as a form of therapy. For most therapies and trauma healing there needs to be a feeling attached to a memory to clear it from our system and begin healing.

Get full access to Rebecca’s Substack at rebeccalovatt.substack.com/subscribe

Rebecca Lovatt

<itunes:author>Rebecca Lovatt</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>No</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>513</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/6143245/post/209904067/01b95581c090cab7632e94cd31d215a8.jpg"/>

Musings #35: The lost art of sacred birthdays

Birthday’s, especially as we enter adulthood, can often be a time of busy-ness, ignorance, detachment, ‘head in the sand, don’t want to know my age’ discomfort. But you won’t find it on the algorithms… because you often can’t see it happen at all.

In this episode, I talk about the slow reality of healing and change - sustainable change - and how we can use Leo season as an example to see where the intensity lives, and where the true values of Leo energy come alive.

If you’re ready to walk slower through life, the Soul Map is ready to receive you. They’re one of the best spiritual training grounds you’ll find.

A complex mix of people and backgrounds, cultures and generations melted together and told to find common ground. Extended family literally chucks you into a spiritual battlefield at times. But in the name of growth… I wanted to share this reflection from a recent family gathering, which taught me a lot, even all these years on with Human Design, about decision making authorities.

It’s not enough for us to just know our decision making authority.

We have to use it, and be unwavered by other people’s triggers, projections and baggage at the same time - compassionately, but with conviction.

You see, learning about your authority is one thing. Using it in peaceful settings where you know it’s safe is another. But using it in challenging situations when you could just easily revert to fawn mode, knowing full well when you open you’re mouth you’re about to get a projection of someone else’s wounds pierce you right through the chest… that’s another thing entirely, and it’s often the reason we don’t follow through with our authority. Not because we can’t. But because to do so will trigger others, consciously or unconsciously, and we don’t feel safe in that triggered moment. People, when triggered are, afterall, unpredictable. And our body senses that.

So when you use your authority…

Do you trust it even when you know it’s going to ruffle feathers?

And are you aware of just how triggering you using your authority can be on others? Not because you need to control their outcome, but because you need to stand in your decision with unwavering confidence to really advocate for yourself.

It’s a work in progress.

Where do you change your own decision to keep the peace with other people?

No matter how small it might seem (and it may well be in little ways) the problem is that it’s continuining to train your system that it’s not safe to stand in your decisions, and that’s a bigger problem…

Becky x

Ps, if you need to start consciously working with your authority, it’s contained in detail in the Soul Map and the Remembering Path audios and weekly live zooms. I am the keeper of the time. And the more I sit with it, the more I think that’s a role most of us have completely abandoned — and the loss of it is making us ill.

Picture an orchestra. The musicians all read from different sheets of music. The oboe has its part, the flutes have theirs, the brass, the percussion. The notes are all different. But the timing is shared. And that shared timing is the whole miracle of the thing, because it’s what gives each instrument its moment to shine, to support the others, and then to fall quiet again.

Very rarely do all the instruments play at once. If they did, the sound would be unbearable. Too intense. Too much. All you’d hear is the loudest instrument in the room. Instead, the music moves like a wave — crescendo, decrescendo, silence, lightness, darkness. And none of those can happen at the same time. They take turns. That taking of turns is what creates the depth, the beauty, the journey.

The conductor doesn’t make a single sound. The conductor keeps the time. And that, I’ve realised, is what astrology does, and what I try to do alongside it. The cosmos is the conductor of the earth. Mother Nature reads the music and executes it, creating harmony and tension, the swell and the rest. Our only job is to play our part, in time.

But here’s what we’ve done in the modern western world. We’ve decided every instrument should play at full volume, all day, every day. Work and rest and play and grief all crammed into the same room at the same hour. We call it productivity. I call it orchestral mayhem. And then we wonder why we’re exhausted, why we’re anxious, why we keep falling ill. So much of our suffering, I’m convinced, comes from being out of time.

The planets are the hands of this great clock. The sun starts the cycle, the moon swells and softens it, Mars rushes us, Venus slows us, Saturn disciplines us, Jupiter grows us, the nodes point us toward what to hold and what to release. And reading that clock isn’t superstition. Jung understood the chart as a map of the psyche, the planets as parts of who we are. It’s depth psychology drawn in the sky.

So when someone comes to me worn down and out of rhythm, my work is to keep the time. To stop the clocks, sometimes. To rewind, to reorientate. To slow them down with sound and stillness and cacao and reflection, until they can hear the beat again. And then — and this is the real work — to hand the baton back. Then on the 21st, the solstice, the longest day, the sun stood still. Two thresholds in one weekend, pointing at the same ground: the body, worth, security, and the old question of whether there is enough.

This is a preview, not the full transit. The door opens now, closes in autumn, and opens properly in 2027, so whatever it’s surfacing in you isn’t a final verdict but a teaser, a first look.

In this episode I cover:

* What Chiron in Taurus tends to bring up, and why the rising of an old ache is not the emergency it feels like.

* The solstice, the instruction hidden in the word, and what it asks of us at the height of the light.

* And looking back at the last time Chiron was here - the Winter of Discontent, the Miners, and Covid as the most recent echo of a similar time, and ask the question underneath all of it: do you know who you are, underneath what you have? Because when the ground shakes, that is the only thing that keeps you standing.

Notice what rises. Don’t panic, and don’t fix. There is no rush in this transit. It’s time to learn to tell what belongs to the collective from what belongs to you.

—

Your Soul Map is where that work begins: a personalised map of your design, your authority, and where your worth actually sits, drawn from Human Design, astrology and the nervous system understanding. The scandals from the eighties and nineties crawling out of the woodwork, buried things suddenly dragged into daylight, none of it is random. It’s right on schedule.

In this Musing I follow one thread: every time Pluto changes sign, it squares where it used to be, and hauls up whatever that era buried. Pluto in Aquarius is broadcasting what Scorpio hid in the eighties and nineties. Pluto in Capricorn put the seventies on trial, right down to the same court rewriting Roe v Wade, fifty years on. I look at what Pluto makes a public enemy of in each age… tech now, institutions before, religion before that, and why it only ever vilifies a thing in order to transform it.

And then I bring it home, because this exact same square happens once in your own chart, somewhere in your late thirties or early forties, the moment your own buried thing comes up to be felt. It isn’t punishment. It’s initiation. And the wheel it sits on never stops turning, which, I promise, is the most freeing part of all.

I’m Becky Lovatt — I write and voice-record Musings, and I’m the founder of My Soul Map: personalised Soul Cartography and chart readings that map who you are underneath the conditioning, built from Human Design, astrology and neuroscience. If this one left you wondering where your own Pluto sits… what you’ve buried, and what might be rising up to be met, that’s exactly what a Soul Map is for. But the largest meta-analyses we have now are telling a different story. Loneliness predicts dementia twenty years out. Adverse childhood experiences predict autoimmunity forty years out. Chronic stress predicts almost everything, across decades.

The diagnosis isn’t the beginning. Or depleted?

Something I keep coming back to, and something I see cause so much unnecessary confusion, is that we treat all ‘not okay’ as the same.

We feel bad, so we try to fix it. We try to regulate when we’re actually depleted. We rest when we’re actually dysregulated. We reach for the wrong tool and then wonder why nothing shifts.

In this Musing, I want to make a distinction that I think will help you in your self understanding: the difference between dysregulation and depletion. Between a nervous system in alarm… freeze, fawn, fight, flight, and cups that are simply running low or on fumes. Purpose, service, fun, maintenance.

They feel similar from the inside BUT they need completely different things.

And then underneath both of those, there’s the layer that makes it specific to you. Because your thresholds, your triggers, your what-fills-me and what-drains-me are not universal. They’re wired into your design. And the more clearly you can see that, the less time you spend applying someone else’s answer to your body’s question.

This one’s around 18 minutes. Make a cup of something and come and listen.

—

✦ The Soul Map

The Soul Map is a personalised document built from your Human Design chart and astrology. The conversation around who ‘fits’ in these spaces, and who doesn’t.

Because here’s the thing, every value our spiritual communities hold up, every single one, falls apart the moment we start applying it selectively. You cannot preach authenticity and then punish someone for being authentically working class. You cannot talk about holding space for all of someone and then decide that the parts shaped by poverty or a particular postcode or a particular way of speaking are the parts that need to be left at the door. You cannot build a healing community on the foundation of secret rules about who is allowed to heal, and how that should look.

Compassion without judgement means without judgement. Not without judgement unless someone makes you uncomfortable. Not without judgement unless their background is showing.

What I want to see is simple, even if it isn’t easy. I want to see these communities actually live the values they profess. I want to see the woman with the affordable bowls given the same respect as the woman with the crystal set. I want to see a working class man’s way of holding space understood as a different flavour of the work, not a lesser one. I want to see people be able to CHOOSE who they work with, without being shamed. I want to see us get curious about our discomfort rather than cancelling its source. I want to see individuality genuinely celebrated… not the curated kind, the real, unruly, unpredictable kind that comes from actual human lives. From our STORIES.

The sacred has never cared about any of this. The plant medicines do not care how you hold them, as long as it with respect and care. And that is a FEELING, not a word.

These spiritual medicines, these plant allies have always been available to everyone. The question is whether we are.

Whether the communities we are building are as wide as the values we say we hold.

The healing this world needs is going to come from everyone. Which means everyone has to be able to get through the door. And everyone has the capacity to hold their medicine without shame.

The Soul Map is a 110+ page living map of life. A decision. Something you arrive at through enough reflection or the right morning routine. Pisces season has a way of dissolving edges… between you and other people, between your feelings and theirs, between what’s real and what you’ve absorbed from the noise. Add Gate 36’s signature flavour of emotional crisis and longing for experience, a New Moon asking you to surrender into something new and dream the impossible dream, Mercury preparing to go direct after weeks of murk, and an equinox tipping the whole year into its next chapter, and it’s no wonder people are feeling a lot.

The question isn’t whether the weather is intense. It is. The question is: do you know where you end and the collective begins?

That’s what this episode muses on. Because without that self-knowledge, we’re just sponges. We absorb the fear, the grief, the restlessness and we call it ours. We make decisions from it. We spiral in it.

But when you know yourself, your design, your channels, your openness, your strategy, you can start to feel the difference. That’s not mine. That’s the weather. And from that place, you can actually be of use. To yourself, and to the people around you.

That's the gift of a Soul Map. Knowing yourself well enough to say: this is mine, and this isn't. In this Wednesdays webinar, we’re exploring these sponges - the undefined and defined centres. I talk about pleasure as a nervous system nutrient, about how desire and safety get tangled with spending and saving, and about the historical and inherited layers that still live in women’s bodies when it comes to money. This is a gentle reflection on how our habits with money, food, and wanting can be listened to as signals rather than judged as failures, and how healing might begin not with more control, but with better nourishment.

If this is landing for you, if something in your body has quietly recognised itself as I’ve been speaking, then I want you to know there’s a place you can take this work a little further.

This month inside the BOTHY, we’re exploring Money Archetypes - not as a something to master, but as a way of listening more closely to how money, pleasure, desire, safety, and the nervous system have been speaking through us all along.

The BOTHY is a rolling monthly membership. You can join at any point. Alongside this, I’m opening the February Bothy, where we’ll be exploring our money stories and gently making space for a new way of relating to resources and possibility. If money is something you struggle with, whether you have little, lots, or find it go in and come straight back out again, money is often one of the first places we unconsciously block ourselves from moving on with… It’s an important story to get to grips with if ‘change’ is what you want from your life, on some level, in 2026.→ Join the February Bothy here

Get full access to Rebecca’s Substack at rebeccalovatt.substack.com/subscribe

Rebecca Lovatt

<itunes:author>Rebecca Lovatt</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>No</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>935</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/6143245/post/185842425/eff794aa150f2f062a2879b4d0f4ef27.jpg"/>

Musings #7: Reflections on Venus Evening Star

In this short audio reflection, I explore the shift of Venus from Morning Star to Evening Star and what that change reveals about identity, value, and the quieter work of shaping 2026.

Rather than focusing on reinvention or new goals, this piece looks at resetting the dial: how to notice what your life is already asking of you, where effort has become unsustainable, and what’s ready to be lived rather than proven.

This is a grounded, practical Musing on:

* identity as something you embody

* desire versus real capacity (very Saturnian in lesson)

* relationships as mutual living things

* values as what you organise your life around

* small, precise adjustments that quietly shape the year ahead

It’s a transmission for people who don’t need more motivation but clearer alignment with what’s actually true for them now.

✨ Further work on Venus, money, and receiving

Throughout February, I’m sharing deeper workshops inside The Bothy, focused on Venus as a living concept with money healing, receiving work, and relational capacity at the forefront.

These sessions are practical, reflective, and oriented toward sustainability rather than self-improvement. coming

Welcome to this latest episode of Musings, which as you’ll hear, is even more raw and real than the last one… hello, Bonnie the corgi!

This new moon is an opportunity to re-do the last new moon. A chance to be even bolder, clearer, simpler and concise with your daily life and truly encourage supported action.

The world will get noisier on the lead up to this new moon as Mercury, the ruler of Virgo, opposes Saturn, leadership. Rather than fighting fire with fire, do something radically different. Use the mutable signs of Virgo and Pisces to dissolve the old and sculpt the new. It’s time - the world is your canvas. Paint and create.

Becky x

I mentioned the Astrology workshop here for those of you confused by how you can find 29 degrees of Virgo in your chart.

And if this eclipse is feeling confusing, heavy, or you feel you need clarity, readings are bookable for October as I’m full now for September :) But the Soul Map is a great replacement for the time being to bring you back home!

Get full access to Rebecca’s Substack at rebeccalovatt.substack.com/subscribe

Rebecca Lovatt

<itunes:author>Rebecca Lovatt</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>No</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>893</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/6143245/post/173833450/31e9b86562a4bf18f05891036754cbdd.jpg"/>

Musings #1 Full Moon Eclipse in Pisces Update

Journal prompts

What is coming to an end?

What needs my daily support?

How can I slow down and use my daily actions to support my long term visions?

Get full access to Rebecca’s Substack at rebeccalovatt.substack.com/subscribe

Rebecca Lovatt

<itunes:author>Rebecca Lovatt</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>No</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>730</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/6143245/post/172857176/3e9ef7b83840dc1f7f3d8d9986ef1aaf.jpg"/>
