“I help Stephen Miller” - Homan just revealed who’s really running ICE

Just after 1 pm, Tom Homan, Donald Trump’s “Border Czar,” walked toward the press on the White House driveway with a script. He wanted to talk about body cameras, arrest numbers, and how ICE agents are “moms and dads.” He wanted to use the attack on a Manhattan federal building as proof his agents are the real victims. And he might have gotten away with it, if not for reporters who kept asking why the administration gutted the very body camera program it now claims to support, and why an agent whose own ex-wife raised concerns about his mental fitness was ever given a badge and a gun. Homan grew visibly agitated with every question until he blurted out that he can’t even buy a quart of milk without a security detail, then stormed off without a glance back. But before he left, he said something that will matter far longer than his outbursts. Asked to describe his role, he finally admitted: “I’m here; I help Steven Miller. We, we, we develop strategies to send down to the programs for implementation.” On camera, he confirmed what reporters have pieced together for over a year. Stephen Miller is the architect. Homan is the enforcer.

Stephen Miller was never confirmed by the Senate. He holds no title that required a vote. Yet he reportedly runs daily 10 am calls, including Saturdays, demanding arrest numbers, once described as running them “less like a government adviser and more like a wartime general.” He demanded ICE hit 3,000 arrests per day and told field directors to “just go out there and arrest illegal aliens.” After two American citizens were killed in Minneapolis, Miller went on Fox and told every ICE officer they have “federal immunity” and anyone who obstructs them “is committing a felony,” what legal experts called an open invitation for abuse. Homan let another truth slip. When asked about the mistakes in Minnesota, he said, “I don’t think they were mistakes.”

The man delivering this performance is himself the subject of one of the most damning corruption allegations in modern federal law enforcement. In 2024, the FBI recorded Homan on hidden cameras accepting $50,000 in cash, in a bag, from undercover agents, after indicating he could help them win contracts. The investigation stalled the moment Trump was inaugurated, and appointees closed the case. Meanwhile GEO Group, the private prison giant that once paid Homan as a consultant, signed new ICE contracts worth over $130 million. Every word was aimed at the midterms, building the frame that ICE agents are under attack and questioning them puts officers at risk. There is a small comfort. None of these men, not Miller, not Homan, not Mullin, have presidential immunity. They act as though the power they wield now will protect them forever. It will not. They are building their own case files. They just do not realize it yet.

Andrew Tate is in handcuffs and the trail leads to Trump’s inner circle

Shortly before a bare-knuckle boxing event in Miami, U.S. Marshals shocked everyone in attendance when they arrested the event’s co-host, Andrew Tate, along with his brother Tristan, handcuffing both men in front of cameras before beginning the process of extraditing them to the United Kingdom, where they face 59 charges including human trafficking, assault, and organized exploitation. But nothing is straightforward these days. Because a year earlier, while the brothers were still under judicial supervision in Romania, one of Trump’s special envoys personally pushed for their release, and the rest of the administration only learned about it after the fact. Once on American soil, the Tates were not just tolerated, but they were embraced. They were hosted at the D.C. home of another Trump envoy, Paolo Zampolli, the man widely credited with introducing Melania to Donald Trump, who admitted on camera that he knew Jeffrey Epstein had underage girls around him.

And that same refusal to hold its own people accountable is becoming the policy of the United States government itself. On Thursday, FBI managers received written guidance directing the bureau to stop investigating confrontations involving ICE agents. Until now, when ICE agents were involved in violent encounters, including fatal shootings, the FBI opened an investigation that created a federal record and evidence that could later support civil rights or criminal prosecutions. Without the FBI, oversight of ICE falls to a division of DHS itself. ICE investigating ICE. A closed loop designed to produce silence and ensure impunity. This is how authoritarian governments have always operated, building parallel forces that answer directly to those in power and operate with fewer restraints.

Here is what this administration keeps forgetting. Removing federal oversight does not stop the states, and Donald Trump cannot pardon state crimes. The reason they are building this infrastructure of impunity is visible in everything else that happened last week. The walls are closing in, and he knows it. Justice has a strange way of working itself out. It is rarely fast enough and almost never arrives the way we want, but it arrives, just as it caught up with the Tate brothers on a Saturday evening in Miami after years of dodging it. Even Senator Lisa Murkowski published an op-ed this week explaining why she will vote against his signature SAVE America Act. When members of his own party start dismantling his efforts, the cracks are showing again. Leaders who feel their grip slipping become more reckless, not less. We should also expect more Republicans willing to speak up, more institutions refusing to bend, and more Americans deciding they have had enough. That is what losing power looks like.

Canada is burning. Instead of helping, Trump threatens tariffs

While more than 800 wildfires burned across Canada and over 100 million Americans in 18 states sat under air quality alerts, the President of the United States decided to weigh in, not with sympathy or support, but with an attack. He blamed the natural disaster on Canada, accused the country of “Willful Negligence,” and declared that “the United States is being unnecessarily invaded by filthy, polluted, and unhealthy air.” He threatened additional tariffs while the fires were still burning. That is what he chose to do while an entire First Nation community burned to the ground in less than an hour, with no warning and no assistance, its residents fleeing by boat with almost nothing. “They survived it,” the chief said, “but now we have nothing.” And he was not alone. Republican members of Congress sent hostile letters, one senator drafted sanctions legislation, and another, who happens to have founded a firefighting company that received more than $235 million in government contracts, used the crisis to attack his competitors.

And here is what makes it worse than hypocrisy. Just days before Trump’s attack, a 56-year-old Canadian pilot named Nicholas Dale was killed fighting a wildfire in Colorado. He was here for us, fighting our fire. Hundreds of Americans lined a highway to honor him as his body was carried home. He did not check which side of the border the fire was on before he went in. The cross-border firefighting partnership has saved lives on both sides since 1982. During the LA fires last year, Canada sent water bombers, and Mexico sent 72 firefighters. Both nations this administration treats as adversaries, showed up when we needed them. And while Trump blamed Canada for the smoke, his own administration was dismantling the very scientists whose job is to understand wildfire smoke, shutting down the world’s only laboratory studying its health effects and slating dozens of research stations for closure. The same government that gutted the agencies meant to protect us is now calling our closest ally negligent.

Because this was never really about wildfires, smoke, or tariffs. It is about isolation. Trump has threatened to annex Greenland, mocked Canada with 51st-state taunts, and threatened military action against Mexico, Cuba, and Colombia. Authoritarian regimes fear strong alliances because they create accountability and allow the outside world to see what they are doing. When he attacks Canada during a wildfire, he is trying to make Americans believe our neighbors are our enemies. But we are bigger than our government and bigger than one man. Millions of Americans see this for exactly what it is, and we are not okay with it. Trust has to be earned through what we do next, and we will vote these people out, hold them accountable, and rebuild what they have broken. Because the real America is not the voice screaming on Truth Social. It is the people who lined a highway with flags to honor a Canadian pilot who gave his life for us.

Trump’s plan to use the federal government to interfere with our elections

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin walked into the Indian Treaty Room, stepped up to the podium, and over the next 27 minutes, he reminded the room repeatedly that his loyalty to Donald Trump was total, that there was no daylight between them, that they had been texting that very morning. But loyalty was not the point. Speaking of people he claimed had broken election laws, he declared, we will hunt you down, we will find you, and he threatened election officials with fines, penalties, and prison if they failed to act on information his department would release in 30 days. This was not a plan to secure elections. It was a plan to rig them, dressed up as a national security threat.

The centerpiece was a claim that DHS had identified 250,000 noncitizens registered to vote in four states, California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Nevada, all Democratic strongholds Trump lost. Even if the number were real, and it is not, registration is not voting. In California, officials verify registration and signatures before any ballot counts, and researchers who have studied noncitizen voting find it statistically insignificant. When Georgia checked the names DHS flagged, only 150 of 2,549 had ever voted. The Heritage Foundation’s own fraud database found 77 instances of noncitizen voting across all elections between 1999 and 2023. Mullin’s own letters admit the numbers are unverified, and David Becker explained the figure came from commercial data that routinely produces false matches. Wendy Weiser of the Brennan Center noted he offered no evidence for where the numbers came from. He brought up 400,000 deceased registered voters as a scheme, when it is only the paperwork of people who cannot notify anyone they have died. Then he insisted his claims were not even for debate, because saying something loudly is the only play left when there is no proof to show.

The real danger arrived when he described making security enhancements mandatory, threatening states with lost federal election funding, and, as ABC News reported, previously threatening FEMA counterterrorism grants to force compliance. He promised to scrub voter rolls before and after the election with no oversight over who gets removed, less than four months from the midterms. And he threatened election officials themselves with prosecution and prison, the exact tactic authoritarian movements always use to replace independent judgment with fear. If poll workers can be jailed for doing their jobs, the entire system of election administration begins to collapse. He went after judges too, calling them “activist” and demanding that any “god-fearing” person support him, even as 15 courts, including six Trump appointees, have already blocked these demands. Judge Sparkle Sooknanan wrote that the government had knowingly trampled on the privacy rights of citizens and the sacred right to vote.

Yet the truth kept breaking through. John Solomon, handpicked for Trump’s own election task force, said the Intelligence Committee has zero evidence any foreign power flipped a vote in 2020, 2022, or 2024. Governors and secretaries of state from both parties refused to be intimidated. If Democrats could rig elections, Trump would not sit in the White House with Republicans controlling Congress and the courts. They resort to threats precisely because they cannot win enough legitimate votes to hold power, which means they are not yet in control. November will be here soon, and until then we keep the pressure on, speak the truth, and show up for one another.

Trump's primetime speech was the most disturbing of his presidency

Last night, Donald J. Trump stood in the East Room of the White House and for 25 minutes told the American people that they could not trust their own elections. It was not a speech about a foreign attack or a national emergency. It was a speech about the election he lost in 2020, delivered less than four months before a midterm his party is widely expected to lose. He claimed the intelligence community had been lying for years, that China had carried out the largest compromise of election data in history, that the media was part of a conspiracy, and that anyone who opposed his election bill “wants to cheat.” Stripped of its theatrics, the address had one purpose: to convince millions of Americans to distrust the results of the next election so that Trump can cling to power when Republicans lose it at the ballot box.

The claims kept collapsing under their own weight the longer he spoke. He described classified “burn bags” supposedly handed off by “President Barack Hussein and Obama to be burned,” bags that survived only because “maybe we got lucky.” He said China acquired 220 million voter files from 18 states, without noting that voter registration data is publicly available in most of them, and without a single document showing that any vote was altered or any machine breached. The 2021 intelligence assessment produced under his own Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, concluded with high confidence that China did not try to influence the 2020 outcome and found “no indication that any foreign actor attempted to alter any technical aspect of the voting process.” He revived the Venezuela and Dominion machine conspiracy that cost Fox News a $787 million settlement, and he buried, as a throwaway line, the staggering allegation that China manufactured illegal ballots for Joe Biden, then never returned to it.

Trump ordered DHS to push states to purge voter rolls, directed the FBI to investigate, demanded Congress pass the SAVE America Act immediately, and told supporters to flood their representatives with calls, softening his voice to ask, “How easy is that to do unless you want to cheat?” He threatened to revoke the broadcast licenses of ABC, NBC, and CNN because they declined to air him, networks that had watched what these same claims cost in court and recognized a political operation dressed as a national security briefing. Yet the man accusing everyone else of fraud is the only person on tape asking a state official to “find 11,780 votes.”

Trump’s U.S. Army War College speech was truly concerning

At the U.S. Army War College, an institution founded to educate the nation’s most senior military leaders, the President of the United States spent nearly 55 minutes talking about a range of absurd talking points, including magnets. “I’ll tell you how to make money: do magnets.” He moved on to Caterpillar tractors, to a friend who bought a private jet he didn’t need just for the tax write-off, and called affordability, the single biggest economic crisis facing American families, a “fake word” that Democrats invented. And whenever someone else took the podium, his eyes grew heavy, and he repeatedly appeared to nod off, only regaining attention after Pete Hegseth addressed him directly. On a day when the United States is already engaged in a new war with Iran, he used a serious defense summit to campaign, attack his opponents, and joke, at the Army War College, about pardoning service members convicted of killing civilians.

That last part was the most damning, because it revealed who is running the war machine they are building. Trump laughed as he described pardoning soldiers “trained to kill,” blaming Hegseth for lobbying him to do it. The men Hegseth championed on Fox News include a SEAL turned in by his own team for reportedly shooting a young girl and an old man, and an Army officer nine of his own platoon members testified against for ordering fire on unarmed civilians. This is the same Defense Secretary who just announced mandatory testosterone screening for male troops over thirty, branding it “The High-T Department of War,” while blocking the promotions of seven senior Navy officers, five of them women or people of color. For the first time in nearly two decades, no active-duty women serve as four-star generals or admirals. He is not building a stronger military. He is building a boys’ club with a war machine attached.

On Capitol Hill, two confirmation hearings revealed the other half of the project: filling every position of power with people loyal to one man, not the Constitution. Trump’s attorney general nominee, Todd Blanche, asked if he and the president are friends, replied, “I’m his lawyer,” before catching himself. His nominee for director of national intelligence refused to say who won the 2020 election, questioning the “audit trail” of American elections, laying the groundwork for the fraud narrative.

Elon Musk faces possible criminal charges over $1 million voter lottery

At 7:57 last night, Donald Trump shared three images in the same minute, and they told the truth more plainly than any speech ever could. In each one, he stood beside Chinese President Xi Jinping. In the first, they walked shoulder to shoulder down a red carpet, presented as equals. In the second, both men appeared composed and comfortable before an arch, a private moment between friends. The third was the most troubling of all. In that black-and-white photo, Trump stands behind Xi, his face drooping, confusion in his eyes, looking diminished, while Xi radiates energy and control, smiling, sharp, every inch a leader. But the photographs themselves almost do not matter. They could have been golfing or shaking hands at a summit, and the conclusion would be identical. The President of the United States once again chose to align himself publicly with one of the world’s most powerful authoritarian leaders while continuing to alienate the democratic allies who stood beside America for generations. Earlier the same day, he shared an altered image from the Oval Office, replacing the display behind him with a map showing Canada, Greenland, Cuba, and Venezuela draped in the American flag, as if they were ours to claim.

None of this is accidental, and none of it is some hidden long-game strategy. This is who he is and who he has always been. He praised Vladimir Putin while Russia bombed civilians in Ukraine. He traded letters with Kim Jong Un and told the world they fell in love. He called Viktor Orban a true friend and a winner while Orban dismantled press freedom in Hungary. He calls Xi one of the world’s great leaders, and Xi crushed democracy in Hong Kong, herded an ethnic minority into internment camps, and built the most advanced surveillance state in human history. These are the men Trump admires, the men he wants standing beside him when the world is watching. Democratic leaders want nothing to do with him.

But his choice does not have to be ours, and the roadblocks are multiplying. Senate Democrats blocked the $1.15 trillion National Defense Authorization Act, a bill that has passed for sixty-six consecutive years and never once failed to advance to debate. The vote was fifty to forty-six, short of the sixty needed, and it happened because Trump started a war without authorization, without a strategy, and without an exit. Democrats did not write a letter or issue a statement. They voted, and the line held. In Wisconsin, a bipartisan elections commission voted five to one to find probable cause that Elon Musk violated state election bribery laws during the 2025 Supreme Court race, dangling million-dollar prizes and giant novelty checks before voters. A federal judge has ordered Musk to testify, and the Brown County District Attorney has forty days to decide on criminal charges. That referral came from a state commission doing exactly what the founders built it to do when the federal system fails. We are on the wrong side of history right now, but we are not at the point of no return. Trump has made his choice. He does not get to make ours. He will be remembered for the dictators he embraced. We will be remembered for what we did to stop him.

Trump's planned Thursday primetime address is deeply concerning

Last night in the Oval Office, the President of the United States sat at his desk and signed away protections for nearly 3 million acres of public land in Utah. This was just one part of his busy day. Across a single Monday, over two interviews, 35 Truth Social posts, and this signing, Trump constructed and reconstructed reality so many times that no one, not his allies, not the press, not foreign governments, could say what was real.

And some of it was dangerous. On live radio, he announced a potential military target on an Iranian nuclear complex, saying “we’re going to hit them very hard tonight,” while dismissing the peace deal he signed as merely “a test” that the “sleaze bags” failed. He described the aortic dissection that killed his friend Lindsey Graham as “a certain part of his body literally blowing up.” Meanwhile, in Biddeford, Maine, an ICE agent shot and killed a 26-year-old man authorized to work in this country, reportedly in front of his three-year-old daughter in Bluey pajamas. DHS first claimed he was the target, then admitted hours later they killed the wrong person. And Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a campaign to “dismantle” the International Criminal Court “brick by brick,” which raises the obvious question: why destroy a body with jurisdiction over war crimes unless you know your people are committing them?

But the most alarming revelation was what Trump’s Thursday primetime address is reportedly about: the 2020 election. According to reporting, he plans to claim newly “declassified” intelligence reveals foreign interference in the election he lost six years ago, the one every court, including judges he appointed, said was valid, and may even declare sitting senators illegitimate. Four months before the midterms, he intends to use the full weight of the presidency to tell 330 million Americans their elections cannot be trusted. He knows the midterms are the one thing that can stop him. The country also pushed back. A federal judge voided his corrupt IRS settlement and sanctioned his attorneys. For now, the law still holds.

Trump’s Meet The Press appearance about Lindsey Graham revealed everything

At 2:02 in the morning, while the country slept, Senator Lindsey Graham’s office announced he had died hours earlier. The news landed as a genuine shock, coming while the nation’s attention was fixed on Mitch McConnell’s nearly four-week medical absence. But the most revealing response came less than ninety minutes later, when the President posted his own message declaring Graham “dead” and himself “so sad.” By the time Trump appeared on Meet the Press with Kristen Welker, he had cast himself as the true victim, returning again and again not to the man he called family but to what the death cost his agenda. “This is a big blow to the SAVE America Act, let me tell you.” He described their final call as a legislative progress report, rambling in circles about Graham sounding “a little tired, but perfect,” unable to hold the thread of a dying man’s life for more than seconds before pulling it back to himself.

The performance of mourning collapsed within hours. Throughout the same day he posted a video titled “DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM MUST BE CRIMINALIZED; LEADERS DEPORTED,” a fake image of Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris in red hats reading “I lost to Trump,” three pictures of fighter jets, and a boast about a 59 percent approval rating. This is who the man is. And there was once a version of Graham who understood exactly that. In December 2015, he called Trump “a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot” and said to tell him to go to hell. He called him a kook, unfit for office. On January 6th, he stood on the Senate floor and said, “Enough is enough. Count me out.” He was right every single time, then abandoned all of it within weeks, golfing at Mar-a-Lago and admitting to the New York Times he made the turn to stay “relevant.” He watched Trump mock his best friend John McCain, a prisoner of war, alive and dead, and stood beside him anyway. Kavanaugh and Barrett sit on the Supreme Court because of Graham. He cheered the war in Iran, promising “we’re going to make a ton of money.” He erased his own legacy deliberately, every time he chose power over principle, and history will be honest even if the eulogies are not.

On Friday, the administration gutted the Endangered Species Act, erasing a four-decade definition of harm so oil, mining, and logging interests can move into wildlife habitats as if an animal survives without a home. The Senate reconvenes with Todd Blanche facing confirmation, and with Graham’s seat empty, Republicans cannot lose a single vote.

Graham said country first means doing the hard thing even when it hurts, then could not follow his own words. We still can. Every day we choose resistance, we choose the path he abandoned, the one that leads somewhere worth going. That is why I still have hope for America. You should, too.

Trump's latest desperate attack on the truth

At 9:54 in the morning, Donald Trump left his self-imposed isolation inside the White House to spend Saturday at his golf club outside Washington. At the golf course, he unraveled across five increasingly erratic Truth Social posts. He claimed he had just aced a cognitive screening at Walter Reed that he supposedly takes every six months. He called Democrats communists, wrote an imaginary speech crowning himself “the best political athlete of all time,” and attacked New York Times correspondent Maggie Haberman as one of the most unattractive people in the news business. It all began because Haberman, appearing on MS NOW alongside Jonathan Swan, had simply told the truth. She said that Trump’s health is a black box, that he is 80, and that he no longer speaks with the crispness he once did. That was all it took to send the commander in chief spiraling for an entire afternoon while American forces remained engaged in a dangerous conflict in the Middle East.

But this was not merely the ranting of a bitter, compromised man. It was the latest step in a systematic effort to silence dissent, and it is accelerating. On Friday night, the Department of Justice subpoenaed four New York Times reporters, delivering some subpoenas to their homes and ordering them before a Manhattan grand jury, over a story revealing that the Qatari-gifted Air Force One lacked anti-missile capabilities and that Trump had to switch planes mid-trip during the NATO summit. This is not about wrongdoing. It is about embarrassment, harassment, and intimidation. It fits a continuing pattern stretching back to January 2025 of harassing and suing journalists and media companies. The U.S. Press Freedom Tracker documented more than 170 assaults on journalists in 2025, and trust in news has fallen to 28 percent, the lowest ever recorded.

This is what it looks like when a government moves to silence dissent, not all at once but post by post, subpoena by subpoena, arrest by arrest. Every attack is a message to the next person. The point is not winning in court. It is making reporters, writers, creators, and everyday Americans question whether the next thing they say is worth losing everything for. And if truth stops reaching the people, propaganda replaces it, and the people can no longer act. That is exactly what they want.

If you have been on the sidelines, this is the moment to step off them. Fund the people still defending the First Amendment, both legacy and independent, because protecting the press is how truth stays alive when every other system is being captured. Trump is posting these threats because he is scared. Regimes on the right side of history do not behave this way when they feel secure. They do it when the walls are closing in, and the midterms are drawing near. They are not coming for our words because they are winning. They are coming for our words because they know what happens when enough of us keep using them.

"I hope you'll miss me" - Trump fears Iran will never stop coming after him

Tonight, from inside the White House where he has sequestered himself for the second consecutive day, Donald Trump posted a decree at 11:18 p.m. on Truth Social that reads less like a president speaking and more like a man consumed by his own survival. “1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded,” he wrote, threatening to “completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran” over a one-year period, “subject to extension,” should Iran act on threats to assassinate him. He signed it as though it were a government contract, and closed with “PRAISE BE TO ALLAH,” mocking the faith of the very people whose supreme leader he helped kill and whose funeral processions are still underway. Earlier that same day, in an interview published by the New York Post, he told a reporter, “I hope you’ll miss me” and revealed he has already left instructions for retaliation if he dies. Most people facing mortality think of their families and hope for peace. Trump’s dying wish is more destruction, and it reveals a man who cannot imagine relinquishing control even in death, let alone in November.

The threats against him are real. Iran has wanted him dead since he ordered the 2020 strike that killed General Qassem Soleimani, and mourners at Ayatollah Khamenei’s funeral carried banners reading “WE WILL KILL TRUMP” while a eulogist called his assassination “our duty.” But Trump is not simply reacting to danger. He is using it, wrapping himself in the language of personal threat to justify the concentration of more unilateral power. That pattern came into full view on Thursday when the White House fired all three remaining commissioners of the Election Assistance Commission, the only federal agency whose sole purpose is helping states run elections. It now sits empty, with no quorum, four months before the midterms. The firings were made possible by the Supreme Court’s June 29 ruling in Trump v. Slaughter, which overturned Humphrey’s Executor and gave Trump power to fire commissioners across roughly two dozen independent agencies. He used it within 11 days, aiming first at the commission that helps America vote. Meanwhile, CISA has lost about 1000 staff, and Michigan’s deputy secretary of state said plainly, “All of those relationships have been destroyed.”

And then there is Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Houston construction worker. On July 7, ICE agents in unmarked SUVs stopped his white van, claimed he rammed them, and shot him dead. Two days later, DHS admitted he was never their target. His three sons are American citizens. He was close to legal status. As he bled out in front of his brother Victor, an agent mocked him: “You wanted to escape, right?” His son Ronaldo learned of the death from a Facebook post. These are not separate stories. They are one strategy. Add DHS building its own deportation airline with no outside oversight, and the picture becomes unmistakable. This is an apparatus of force and fear built ahead of the midterms. You do not need to cancel an election when you have already made voting harder, riskier, and more frightening. This is our moment to get loud, to call representatives, to demand answers, and to keep telling the truth to everyone. Trump now has an airport named after him - wait until you see the fine print

At 8:07 last night, the President of the United States shared his first and only social media post of the entire day, a startling silence from a man who routinely posts dozens of times, often through the middle of the night. After returning to America under what is now reported as an extreme threat to his safety, Donald Trump spent the day behind the White House gates. And when he finally spoke to the country, it was not about the NATO summit, the threats against him, or a single duty of the presidency. It was about himself. He announced that Palm Beach International Airport had been renamed The President Donald J. Trump International Airport.

But the post is not the whole story. To celebrate, his son Eric landed at 5:01 in the morning on a plane the family calls Trump Force One, racing to beat a UPS cargo plane so that the first aircraft to touch down under the new name would carry the Trump brand. On Fox and Friends, Eric called the renaming only slightly controversial, saying nothing of the lawsuits, complaints, and opposition that led to this moment. The FAA changed not only the name but also the airport code, from PBI to DJT, at an estimated rebrand cost of $ 5.5 million, with Florida covering roughly half. A 35 page licensing agreement approved four to three by the Palm Beach County commission reveals what this is truly for. The Trump Organization filed three trademark applications months in advance, gained control over which vendors sell merchandise, secured veto power over any biographical material displayed inside, and imposed a non-disparagement clause barring anything that could tarnish his reputation. The trademarks cover watches, jewelry, coins, cuff links, suitcases, neckties, and even plastic slippers for the security line. On paper, the airport is not paying license fees directly to the Trump. But as Florida State law professor Jake Linford noted, the restrictions cover goods, not services, and his company still controls which vendors are approved. The money simply flows under a different name on the receipt. A name that served that community for nearly half a century is gone, replaced by three letters that cannot be criticized and a story only his own people are allowed to tell.

This is what authoritarian regimes do. They make you see their power everywhere until pushing back feels impossible. And while he spent his only words on an airport bearing his name, our country is reeling from a parasite it can no longer properly track. Cyclosporiasis has produced more than 2,000 confirmed cases across at least 18 states, with Michigan approaching 1,200 in roughly 2 weeks, about 20 times its normal annual count. The CDC has lost more than a quarter of its workforce since January 2025, and as of July 2025 it made tracking this exact parasite optional, removing it from required surveillance. The federal count still shows 145 cases through mid June while states report more than two thousand. Nobody knows the source, and ordinary Americans are building their own databases to connect the dots.

They found millions for an airport and took away the money to track a parasite. That is looting. But it will not last. The midterms are coming.See the full story in the video.

Trump invented 15 million beheadings, and no one around him blinked

In today’s video and audio podcast, I felt compelled to add an extra segment at the end. This came from the heart.

At 3:43 in the afternoon in Turkey, the President of the United States reached for the stairs to his plane with a swollen right hand while his bruised left hand hung motionless at his side. He was not boarding the newly refurbished Qatari aircraft he arrived on but the previous Air Force One, a sudden switch that multiple reports tied to security concerns involving Iran. Trump denied it, then contradicted himself, telling the reporters traveling with him that they were “on a dangerous flight,” that “I’m number one on their list, before you,” and adding, “But if I go, you go. Perhaps someday you want to change professions.” The blinds stayed drawn and the transponder was turned off. Earlier in the day he had called Zelenskyy “President Putin,” claimed “the Islamic Republic of Japan” had fired 111 missiles.

The NATO summit was meant to project unity, and instead it became a stage for one man’s unraveling. Trump told the press he was “very upset with NATO,” called Spain “a terrible partner” and its people “hopeless, bad people,” and ordered his Treasury Secretary on camera to “cut off all trade with Spain.” He invoked the Nazi occupation to demand Greenland, saying Denmark should have never gotten it back, and Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen answered that her country was “ready to defend every inch of NATO” and that Greenland is “not for sale.” He declared the Iran agreement he signed at Versailles three weeks earlier “over,” called Iranian leaders “scum,” and announced strikes on more than eighty targets overnight with more coming. Oil surged more than six percent. The Dow dropped six hundred points. And in the middle of it he bragged about being “number one on Tic Tac,” claiming four billion views on an app he cannot pronounce.” Aboard the plane he insisted “billions of votes” vanished in a Los Angeles race, that drug prices fell “four hundred to five hundred to six hundred percent,” and that “fifteen million people had their heads chopped off” in a war his own administration admits is still ongoing.

What makes this dangerous rather than merely absurd is who is telling these lies and who is covering for him. This is the man who controls the nuclear arsenal, commands the military, and is waging war without the consent of Congress. Retired Naval War College professor Tom Nichols said what everyone sees: “There is something deeply wrong with him,” and “our enemies know it, which is why they don’t take him seriously.” Karoline Leavitt called his performance “marathon” and “high-energy.”

Yet even on the darkest day, the system held. A federal judge ordered five $5.8 million released to E. Jean Carroll, and the Second Circuit denied Trump’s appeal hours later, so he lost twice in a single day. In Florida, the Eleventh Circuit struck down the “Stop WOKE Act” as “a breathtaking assertion of power to ban unpopular ideas,” in an opinion written by a judge Trump himself appointed. The courts held firm. November is coming, and the power still belongs to the people. That is why I still have hope for America, and you should too.See the full story in the video.

Trump's disturbing NATO visit exposed something allies already know

At 2:15 p.m. local time in Ankara, Donald Trump stepped out of Qatar’s Air Force One and gave the world an image that was hard to explain away. He gripped the handrail, watched each step, wandered off the ceremonial blue carpet, stopped, and had to be physically guided back into place by Turkish President Erdogan. The White House later posted edited footage that removed the moments where Trump appeared lost, but the damage was already visible. This was the President of the United States arriving at a NATO summit while one of the world’s longest-serving authoritarian leaders steadied him, redirected him, and then welcomed him into a meeting where American power was about to be treated less like a democratic responsibility than a personal favor.

What followed was even more alarming than the scene on the tarmac. Trump admitted he was “very disappointed with NATO” because allies refused to support the war he started against Iran, then suggested he might not have attended the summit at all if it had not been hosted by his “friend” Erdogan. Erdogan immediately appeared to collect the reward: renewed consideration of F-35 fighter jets for Turkey, despite Turkey’s purchase of Russian S-400 air defense systems and its removal from the F-35 program in 2019, along with Trump’s promise to lift sanctions because “we don’t want to sanction friends.” When asked about American technology sitting beside Russian weapons, Trump said he had “no concerns at all about anything” and praised Turkey’s roads. He dismissed Russia’s war in Ukraine by saying it “doesn’t affect the United States,” complained that battlefield images from Pete Hegseth “don’t help the look,” and threatened Europe over Greenland, saying America could remove soldiers from the continent if NATO did not bend toward his demand.

The pattern did not stop overseas. At home, Trump’s Justice Department sent threatening letters to election officials in all fifty states and Washington, D.C. over noncitizen voting, even though it is already illegal and Brennan Center research found it accounted for roughly 0.0001 percent of votes in the jurisdictions examined. Then the same disregard for rules reached the World Cup, where Trump publicly pushed FIFA to overturn a red card he admitted he did not understand. These stories may look separate at first: NATO, sanctions, elections, soccer. But together they show the same danger, a president who treats institutions as props, allies as obstacles, rules as optional, and public responsibility as something to bend around his own grievances.

Trump’s ICE is now investigating US citizens who speak out against them

At 9:27 in the Oval Office, Donald Trump stood beside a gold bell and turned what should have been a staged presidential moment into another glimpse of how casually he wields the power of the presidency. When asked about cryptocurrency, he said something very disturbing. “Every time I see a crypto guy where they dropped an investigation,” he said, “I tell them, ‘You’re lucky I’m president.’” It was a stunning admission from a president tied to an industry that has made him more than a billion dollars.

On the same day, Wired reported that ICE’s Office of Professional Responsibility has opened more than 100 cases involving Americans accused by ICE officials of doxing or threatening ICE employees. That office was created to investigate misconduct inside ICE, including corruption, abuse of authority, excessive force, and civil rights violations by the agency’s own officers. Now it is being aimed outward at civilians. FIRE has filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of David Streever, a 45-year-old from Rochester, New York, who sent an angry email to then-acting ICE Director Todd Lyons after federal agents shot and killed two American citizens in Minneapolis. Five months later, Homeland Security Investigations agents appeared at Streever’s home, handed his wife an official warning notice, and later left a notice at the hotel where he was staying. In Syracuse, agents approached Paigelynne Gonyea over an Instagram post while she was working at a polling place. These are not abstract warnings about what government intimidation could become. These are documented examples of federal power being used to make speech feel dangerous.

The First Amendment was placed first because the founders understood that every other liberty becomes negotiable when citizens are afraid to criticize those who govern them. Authoritarian movements do not always begin with mass arrests or shuttered newsrooms. They often begin by making examples of a few people and waiting to see whether fear spreads faster than outrage. That is why the response cannot be silence. It has to be peaceful, public, collective speech. That is how courage spreads. They can intimidate one person. They can intimidate a hundred. They cannot intimidate an entire country that refuses to surrender its voice.See the full story in the video.

Trump’s frantic social media spiral was disturbing, even for him

Just after midnight following America’s 250th birthday fireworks, the President of the United States was already back on Truth Social, beginning what would become one of the most frantic social media spirals we have seen from him in a long time. Over the course of the day, he posted or reposted more than 100 times, including 67 posts in just two hours. He shared white nationalist language, attacked a federal judge, reposted a racist caricature of the Obamas, reduced Hillary Clinton to a comparison of her physical appearance against a woman two decades younger, and posted a “RESTRAINING ORDER NEEDED” meme aimed at Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, just 48 hours before they are expected to share a room at a NATO summit. This was not the behavior of a president in control. It was a man in free fall, reaching for his phone because it is the only thing left that makes him feel powerful.

But the most disturbing image appeared without warning: an unmistakable piece of authoritarian propaganda depicting Trump as a towering black silhouette dwarfing fighter jets, his arm outstretched toward a horizon consumed by fire and smoke, as if commanding a nation toward war. There was nothing American about it. Nothing democratic. And buried in the spree was the most honest thing he has said in months. He wrote that if Democrats add states, expand representation, and eliminate the filibuster, “it will be impossible for a Republican to ever be elected President again.” He was not describing cheating. He was describing a fair system, and admitting his party cannot survive one. What he wants is a rigged system.

And not a single one of those 100-plus posts was about making anyone’s life better. Not healthcare, not wages, not the cost of groceries. Because there is nothing to point to. His war with Iran produced no victory. His Reflecting Pool became a national embarrassment. His July 4th centerpiece ended with supporters stranded in a thunderstorm while he waited until 11:15 to misquote the Declaration of Independence.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Patriot Front members marched through Washington, and his own Interior Secretary could not bring himself to condemn them. Division is not a consequence of this presidency. It is the only product it has consistently delivered, and he needs more of it now than ever, because it shifts the conversation away from his failures and toward each other. The posting spree is not the behavior of a man who is winning. It is the behavior of a man who knows the ground is shifting beneath him. The midterms are four months away. 400 white supremacists marched through D.C. on July 4th and Trump said nothing

On the 250th birthday of the United States, after hours of storm delays, the President of the United States finally stepped onstage behind bulletproof glass on the National Mall and compared this moment to the birth of the nation itself, calling July 4, 2026, and July 4, 1776, “two big ones.” He declared this celebration “bigger” and “more beautiful,” and teased a third term. On the anniversary of the document written in rejection of monarchy and concentrated power, Donald Trump once again made the celebration revolve around Donald Trump.

But earlier that day, his America was on display in a far more dangerous way. Roughly 400 masked men marched through the nation’s capital carrying Confederate flags and chanting “Reclaim America,” wearing matching uniforms and white face coverings to hide their identities. They were part of an extremist organization called Patriot Front, a white nationalist hate group founded after Charlottesville, and yesterday’s march was the culmination of a recruitment campaign deliberately timed to the 250th anniversary. One Reuters photograph captured it all: a Black woman sitting alone on the Metro, surrounded by masked men filling the train car. Trump never condemned them. His silence was his approval. And it should surprise no one, because those masked men did not appear overnight. They are the product of a decade of rhetoric teaching Americans to fear one another, the same rhetoric he repeated that very night, calling political opponents communists and “a cancer” that must be “cut out fast.” They cover their faces because they know what they are doing is wrong. The founders signed their names knowing it could cost them their lives.

What Donald Trump does not understand is that America survived 250 years because of Americans. Not the man behind the glass, and not the men behind the masks, but the people treated the worst who carried this country anyway. The enslaved who built it. The Native communities who survived genocide and preserved their cultures. The immigrants who crossed oceans and deserts believing a better life for their children was worth the risk. Four former presidents released statements yesterday carrying the same message: democracy is unfinished, and every generation must fight for it. The golden age Trump is building is not for us. It is for his enablers and the men in masks. But the real golden ages have always been the ones we build together. The promise was never that America would be perfect. "We will send them into exile” - Trump's Mount Rushmore speech crossed into dangerous territory

On the eve of America’s 250th birthday, beneath the carved faces of Mount Rushmore, the President of the United States delivered what was previewed as an inspiring, optimistic address answering the question “What does it mean to be an American?” Instead, he delivered the 2026 version of the Red Scare. He declared that the Democratic Party is made up of communists, promised to send them “into exile,” and outlined a plan he said would ensure Republicans “will not lose an election for a hundred years.” He called communism “the greatest threat to our country, including World War I, World War II, Pearl Harbor, or even 9/11.” The President of the United States told the country that Americans who vote differently than he does are a greater threat than the attack that killed nearly 3,000 people.

The speech was built like every authoritarian movement before it. It began not with punishment but with belonging, defining who counts as a “real” American. He praised the “new breed of citizen,” language pulled straight from eugenics, and failed to acknowledge every woman who built this country. Then, once he defined who belongs, he named the enemy: “You can be a communist or you can be a patriot. You cannot be both.” A loyalty test, delivered on the birthday of a nation founded on the right to dissent. This is McCarthyism resurrected in real time, and it was the public launch of a strategy far-right voices have been building toward.

But here is what he does not understand about this country. Hours earlier, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a naturalized citizen born in Uganda, sat behind George Washington’s actual desk, surrounded by newly naturalized Americans holding flags, and without naming Trump once, showed what a real patriotic speech looked like. “It is precisely because we love this nation that we will not leave it.” Trump sees America as a bloodline to be owned and ruled. The real America has always been an idea, shared and passed on by every generation willing to build it. In 1852, Frederick Douglass called out this nation’s hypocrisy and then called the Constitution a “glorious liberty document,” because he loved America enough to tell the truth about it. That is real patriotism. Not erasing people from history. Not threatening exile against those who disagree. We will not let those hungry for power convince us to hate one another. Trump says his sons have "inside information" and he feels sorry for them

In a CNBC interview, the President of the United States grew visibly sweaty as the questions turned to the billions his family has earned since he returned to office. Handed an easy chance to reassure Americans that his family keeps a clear line between public office and private profit, he did the opposite. Explaining why he feels sorry for his children, he volunteered something no ethics lawyer would ever advise a president to say: “Almost anything they do, they have inside information.” His financial disclosures show more than two billion dollars in revenue in 2025. He could not name the firms managing his money or say what rules he was supposed to follow. On the eve of America’s 250th birthday, he sat in the Oval Office and used the oath he swore to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution as a business model, and asked the country to feel sorry for his sons because people keep noticing.

That same day, his handpicked U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced a felony indictment against a 67-year-old three-time Olympic canoeist for touching a piece of the Reflecting Pool’s paint that was already peeling off the bottom. The charge carries up to ten years. When a reporter asked how she could square this with the more than 1,000 January 6 rioters Trump pardoned, people who beat police officers, she snapped, “Are you really talking about January 6? Who’s next? Not you!” She couldn’t answer, because the answer indicts the entire regime. This is a concocted story to shift blame for the administration’s own botched vanity project. Even Republican Senator Thom Tillis asked, “What freakin’ parallel universe did I wake up in?” You don’t have to commit a crime in Trump’s America to be dragged through the system. You just have to be a convenient fall guy for his incompetence.

But this week, others honored their oaths at a cost. Air Force Major Jason Watson became the first active-duty commissioned officer in American history to publicly call for a president’s impeachment, standing in uniform on the Capitol steps and reciting the oath he swore over twenty years ago before being handcuffed. He knew it could cost him his career, his pension, and his freedom, and he did it anyway. And Jack Smith spoke publicly for the first time, warning of “an attack on the rule of law different in kind and scope to anything I’ve seen in my lifetime,” and making clear he will not be intimidated and remains ready to bring his case to trial. Tomorrow, America turns 250. That anniversary belongs to all of us. The people who honored their oaths this week have shown us the way. Donald Trump's unhinged North Dakota speech showed a man in steep decline

At the dedication of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in North Dakota, the President of the United States delivered an increasingly incoherent hour-long speech, pausing often to catch his breath, that revealed a mental decline appearing to accelerate at an alarming pace. He told the crowd he “had a conversation with Theodore Roosevelt,” a man who died in 1919. He looked at his two adult sons and mused about awarding the Congressional Medal of Honor to himself and them, calling it “a threesome.” He claimed the UFC fight held on his own birthday three weeks ago was broadcast on CBS and got some of the highest ratings in history, when it actually aired only on a paid streaming service. And when his teleprompters broke, he turned it into an accidental confession, saying the one on his left was “a waste of time” and the one on his right was “about a two on the scale of 10,” giving his own party a two out of ten without realizing it.

But the rambling was not the most dangerous part. What it revealed was not just confusion. It was conviction, and at times it was profoundly racist. Talking about Roosevelt’s son, Trump invoked “the racehorse theory,” a term rooted in the eugenics movement and the belief that some human bloodlines are genetically superior. This is not a phrase people use by accident. His father raised him on it, and he has invoked it publicly for years, telling crowds they have “good genes” and that the country has “a lot of bad genes.” And the Roosevelt connection cuts deeper, because Roosevelt himself was a prominent proponent of eugenics. Standing at his library, Trump branded all political opposition as communist, called it a greater threat than both World Wars and 9/11, and defended ending affirmative action by describing students who “looked a certain way,” doing the work of saying race without saying it.

The irony is almost impossible to miss. Trump spent the afternoon celebrating a president whose conservation ethic, trust-busting, and belief in public institutions his own administration is actively dismantling. Roosevelt’s own great-grandson has publicly opposed what this administration is doing, noting the party no longer cares about conservation as it once did. Trump embraced the empire and discarded the stewardship, layering in threats against Cuba, Spain, Venezuela, and Iran in a single hour. Three days from now, this country turns 250 years old, and this is the man who will stand on the National Mall and speak on behalf of every dream this country ever had about itself. But here is where the hope lives. When Democrats take back Congress, every hearing and investigation will have his own words as proof. The case is building itself every time he speaks. Trump just revealed that he made over $2.2 Billion in 2025

Yesterday morning, the Supreme Court upheld birthright citizenship, ruling that the promise written into the Fourteenth Amendment survives. Chief Justice Roberts traced it from English common law through the abolitionists to today, writing that “the Framers of the Fourteenth Amendment extended that promise to every free-born person in this land. We keep that promise today.” But the victory was held by a single vote. On the actual constitutional question, whether the Constitution itself protects birthright citizenship, it was five to four, with Justice Kavanaugh writing a roadmap telling Congress exactly how to pass legislation restricting it. And Trump’s response revealed how he sees the Constitution. After hours of silence, he posted that the ruling was “too bad for our Country,” but Congress could simply overrule the Supreme Court with ordinary legislation. In his mind, the Constitution is not the highest law of the land. It is an obstacle to get around. There is no law higher than Donald Trump.

That same morning, the Court handed him something he did celebrate. In another 6-3 decision, it struck down federal limits on how much political parties can spend in coordination with their own candidates. Under the old rules, a single donor could give a candidate $7,000 directly. Now they can funnel up to $500,000 through the party, and the party and candidate can sit in the same room and spend it together as if limits do not exist.

And while three landmark rulings dropped, Trump hid from the press all day, reportedly weighing whether to abandon the Iran negotiations and return to all-out war, because resuming the conflict would be an admission that his signature deal failed. Years ago, Trump repeatedly accused Obama of planning to start a war with Iran to win an election, describing the desperation, the failed negotiations, and the willingness to waste lives for political survival. He was writing his own playbook, and he is now in the exact position he described. Meanwhile, his 927-page financial disclosure revealed nearly $1.2 billion in income from crypto ventures alone, including his Trump meme coin that collapsed 98 percent and cost more than a million investors, many of them his own supporters, $2.3 billion. "The greatest increase in presidential power in the last 100 years"

Yesterday morning, the Supreme Court handed the President of the United States one of the most dangerous expansions of presidential power in nearly a century. In a 6-3 decision in Trump v. Slaughter, the Court ruled that the president can fire the leaders of independent federal agencies for any reason, or no reason at all, overturning 91 years of settled precedent. Justice Sotomayor read her dissent from the bench, warning that the ruling gives the president “a power unknown even to the English Crown against which the Founders revolted.” And how did Trump spend his afternoon with all that new power? He signed an executive order about the right to repair cars, telling a story about people being “arrested for fixing their car.” It wasn’t true. Nobody was being arrested. He invented a problem and then signed a memorandum to fix it.

The ruling means there is no longer any continuity in the American government. Every incoming president can now walk in and fire the heads of more than two dozen agencies on day one, the ones that protect your food, your workplace, your financial markets, and the safety of nuclear power plants, replacing career experts with loyalists who answer only to him. It tells every nation on earth that any partnership with the United States is only as durable as one president’s mood. And when a reporter asked Trump if he would sign the bipartisan housing bill that Congress spent months building to address the affordability crisis crushing American families, he called it “a yawn,” saying the only thing that matters is the SAVE America Act, his bill to require proof of citizenship, mandate photo ID, and eliminate most mail-in voting. Not whether families can afford a home. How much he can restrict the right to vote.

But not everything broke his way, and that is where the hope lives. The Court protected states’ right to count mail-in ballots postmarked on time, a genuine victory that matters for November. It let stand the finding that he sexually abused E. Jean Carroll. And it shielded the Federal Reserve’s Lisa Cook. In four months, the American people speak.

Trump has a new plan for 47 maple trees at Lafayette Square to honor himself

Early yesterday morning, dressed in black with crisp white golf shoes, the President of the United States walked through the rain to tour his latest taxpayer-funded vanity project, a public golf course. From there, his motorcade moved from one renovation to the next, eventually stopping at Lafayette Square, where he reportedly demanded that exactly 47 of his favorite maple trees be planted to commemorate himself, because he is the 47th president. Not America’s trees. His trees. Since taking office, he has demolished the East Wing for a $600 million ballroom, paved over the Rose Garden, botched the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, and put his own name on the Kennedy Center until a judge ordered the letters removed. Standing alone, each project sounds almost ridiculous. Together, they reveal something much bigger. He is not preserving the nation’s capital. He is reshaping it in his own image, blurring the line between the country and the ruler until future generations associate one man with the nation itself. Authoritarian leaders have always understood that shaping memory can be as powerful as shaping policy.

And the corruption runs underneath all of it. The Lafayette Square fountain work, estimated at $3.3 million under the previous administration, went to the same contractor building Trump’s ballroom in a sole-source $17.4 million contract, justified by an “urgency” exemption normally reserved for wars and natural disasters. A senator has opened a formal investigation into whether taxpayer dollars are being funneled to that contractor as a reward.

While he spent his day counting maple trees and posting about pool algae, wars escalated overseas, troops sat under missile threats, and families across the country faced families separated in immigration holding cells, children scared without their parents, people deciding whether to leave their kids behind so those kids can stay in the only country they have ever known. That gap, between a quiet Sunday where neighbors walk their dogs and the horrors filling our phones, is the most dangerous illusion there is. It is exactly what authoritarians count on. History is full of moments when ordinary people went about their lives while their neighbors were rounded up, still holding their voices and not using them, until it was too late. We are not at the end of this story. We are still in the part where it can be stopped, but only if everyone uses their voice now. The midterms are 128 days away. The people being targeted do not have the luxury of waiting. And the normalcy the rest of us feel is not a sign that things are okay.

Inside Trump’s plan to end the separation of church and state

In the Oval Office, the President of the United States sat with his shoulders slumped and his eyes closed, fighting to stay awake while a circle of far-right religious power brokers stood packed behind him. The chairman of his Religious Liberty Commission, Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, summed up the entire purpose in a single sentence: “The separation of church and state is not in the Constitution.” Then he went further: “From this day forward, that phrase should have no power over people of all faiths ever again in America.” He looked at Trump and said no president in history “has stood more for God than this president.” The document they placed on the desk was 224 pages long. It does not simply argue for religious liberty. It lays out a roadmap for weaving religion into the machinery of the federal government, including repealing the law that bars churches from endorsing political candidates while keeping their tax-exempt status.

And this did not stay inside the White House. The same day, the Texas State Board of Education voted to make Texas the first state to require public school students to read the Bible, mandatory, from kindergarten through 12th grade. But none of this is about God. The same administration mandating that children read the Sermon on the Mount, “blessed are the poor, blessed are the meek,” is gutting Medicaid, slashing food assistance, and stripping protections from the most vulnerable. This is not a revival. It is a takeover. And the tool is not scripture. It is control.

But we need to see this for what it is. They are not building this infrastructure because they are confident. They are building it because they are desperate. Their polling is slipping. The special elections keep breaking against them. Every person standing behind that desk has something to lose, and desperate people with institutional power do not slow down. They accelerate, trying to lock everything in place before the voters arrive. This was not a show of strength. It was a show of fear. And nothing is set in stone. The report is a draft, open for comment. The Texas mandate does not take effect until 2030. The lawsuits are still moving. The midterms have not happened yet. This country was not founded as a Christian nation. It was founded by people fleeing religious persecution, who wrote the First Amendment to protect the people from a government that would use religion as a weapon. That protection has stood for 250 years. It can survive Donald Trump, too, but only if we refuse to surrender it.See the full story in the video.

Mike Johnson warns communism is "on our own shores"

At the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference, before a ballroom packed with conservative donors, influencers, and elected officials, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson delivered a warning every American needs to hear. He told the room that if Republicans lose the midterms, Democrats would investigate “the president’s family, the cabinet, his donors and friends,” and that “half of you in this room will be targeted.” Then he said the part that should define this entire election cycle: “I run the protection program. I’ll take care of you.” The Speaker of the House, third in line to the presidency, just described his job not as legislating or conducting oversight, but as running a protection program. That phrase belongs to organized crime. It belongs to the language of people who know there is something to hide. And he said it out loud, on camera, with pride. Oversight is not political revenge. It is one of Congress’s most fundamental responsibilities. When the Speaker openly promises to prevent it, he is describing a system where loyalty matters more than accountability.

To justify it, they reached for the most emotionally loaded word in the American vocabulary: communism. Johnson invoked Reagan and the Soviet threat to describe candidates who support ranked-choice voting and rent freezes. Trump went further, calling Democrats “animals” and writing that “assassinations of those who oppose them” is part of their ideology. This is McCarthyism, not as a metaphor but structurally. McCarthy never had to prove anyone was a communist. He just said the word and let fear do the rest. And while Johnson promised protection to those inside his movement, two courtrooms showed what life looks like outside of it. In Texas, a man received 30 years in federal prison for moving a box of political pamphlets, while a judge said he wanted to “send a message to anyone who shares a similar ideology.” In New York, ICE agents entered a polling place to confront a poll worker over an Instagram post calling for an agent’s indictment, handing her a document warning she might be “in violation of federal law.”

This is the protection program in action. At the top, a Speaker who promises donors no committee will touch them. At the bottom, a man serving decades for pamphlets and a woman intimidated at her voting site for a social media post. Protection flows up. Punishment flows down. And the word they use to justify all of it is communism. Mike Johnson is scared. They are running a protection program because they know what is in the files. The desperation is the tell. When the Speaker has to invoke the specter of Soviet communism, he is not operating from a position of strength. He is operating from fear, and that fear exists because millions of us have refused to stop speaking, showing up, and demanding accountability. The midterms are five months away.

J.D. Vance said Watergate would be a "12 hour news story" if it happened now

Sitting in the library of the only president ever forced to resign over abuse of power, Vice President J.D. Vance declared that Richard Nixon’s “historical legacy is enjoying a bit of a renaissance, and I think deservedly so.” He argued that if Watergate happened today, it would amount to “like a 12-hour news story,” called it “crazy” that the scandal ever brought down a presidency, and compared himself to Nixon before concluding, “I’ve always liked Richard Nixon.” But buried in that moment was a confession Vance didn’t seem to realize he was making. Because if Watergate would barely make the news today, what he was really admitting is that the scandals surrounding Donald Trump have grown so large and so constant that the crime which once toppled a president would now barely interrupt a news cycle. Nixon’s corruption didn’t get smaller. Our tolerance for presidential corruption got much larger.

And it wasn’t an isolated slip. It is a strategy. They are choosing their words to lower the standards of what Americans will tolerate, because if you normalize the language, you normalize the behavior that follows. Trump has been workshopping “Dumbocrats,” even running a poll to crowdsource the best spelling. A sitting cabinet secretary called the artists who walked away from the Trump-branded Freedom 250 event “libtards” on a stage on the National Mall, and faced no consequences. And after the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool renovation failed because of his own administration’s incompetence, they invented a vandalism conspiracy, arrested people for touching the water, and deployed the National Guard to guard the peeling paint. This is how authoritarian normalization works. You test the language. Nobody stops you. You escalate. Nobody stops you. You test the action. Then you rehabilitate historical corruption itself. Each test that passes without consequence gives permission for the next.

But while Vance was telling Americans that Watergate wouldn’t matter anymore, a legal battle was quietly progressing. Trump filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the BBC over an edited documentary because his ego could not let it go. And now the BBC’s lawyers are using discovery to demand exactly the evidence that brought down Nixon: his phone logs, his calendars, his schedules, and his communications with advisers from Election Day 2020 through January 20, 2021. Nobody forced him to file this. He opened the door himself, and now he is complaining that the BBC walked through it. The legal architecture of accountability is still functioning, even when it looks dismantled. Nixon had the tapes. Trump may end up producing his own. The one thing this administration cannot control, no matter how many words they manufacture or how many people they arrest, is the truth. Republican senator yells at Trump in heated closed door luncheon

This morning, while House Republican leaders stood at a podium celebrating the most significant bipartisan achievement of this Congress, a housing bill that passed the Senate 85 to 5 and the House 358 to 32, the President of the United States posted on Truth Social and killed it. He would not sign it. Not until Congress passed the SAVE America Act, a voting bill his own party has told him repeatedly does not have the votes. No one saw it coming. Speaker Mike Johnson had spoken with him 20 minutes earlier and believed the signing was still on. In Statuary Hall, workers had already set up the signing desk with the presidential seal. By noon, they were taking the stage apart. And inside a closed-door lunch sold to the press as a unity meeting, Senator Bill Cassidy stood up and began shouting at the president. Trump told him to sit down. He refused. Trump called him a lunatic. Cassidy called him brother. Trump told him he was not his brother. The party is fracturing in real time.

The bill he refused to sign, the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, was the most comprehensive housing legislation in decades, limiting investors from buying up single-family homes and lowering costs for first-time buyers and renters. He called it “of minor importance” and walked away. What he wants instead is the SAVE Act, which would require proof of citizenship to register, impose strict photo ID rules, and practically ban mail-in voting, requirements that would disproportionately block women who changed their names, elderly voters, rural communities, and disabled voters. This is not about election security. It is about survival. Trump knows his approval sits at 37 percent. He knows he cannot win in November on the economy or the war. So he is trying to win it by changing who gets to vote. Nine minutes before he killed the housing bill, he posted that his poll numbers had never been higher. That is the distance between his reality and ours.

But the most chilling moment came that night. Hours after shouting at the president, Bill Cassidy was summoned to the White House and briefed in the Situation Room by Vance and Witkoff. When he came out, his vote on a war powers resolution had flipped. He voted no. That is how these regimes work. You push back in the morning, and by nightfall, you are brought into a room and reminded of something. We may never know what was said behind those doors. But we know the pattern, and we know the leverage was strong enough to reverse a vote on war and peace within hours. And yet, the exodus is real. Every artist who refused to perform at his Freedom 250 event made a choice. Every state that declined made a choice. Trump's Pennsylvania rally was so bizarre people are wondering what's wrong

At a Mack Truck factory in Pennsylvania, the President of the United States launched into nearly 80 minutes of a campaign rally that was supposed to be about saving a vulnerable Republican congressman fighting for his seat. Instead, it took him nearly an hour to even mention the man by name, and when he did, he told the crowd, “Nobody wants to hear you, Ryan,” before ordering him onstage. He told stories about himself. He aired old grievances. He did an extended, deeply uncomfortable reenactment involving moaning and groaning that someone unfamiliar might mistake for a medical episode. He praised his truck tariffs at a factory that laid off hundreds of workers last year because of those very tariffs. He bragged that the stock market hit a new high on a day when every major index closed down. The performance didn’t work. It just showed more people the truth. He cannot make anything about anyone other than himself.

By evening, the mask slipped further. After the Senate passed a war powers resolution 50 to 48, the first time both chambers had done so since the Iran war began, Trump posted that the four Republicans who broke ranks had provided “aid and comfort” to the enemy, language pulled directly from the constitutional definition of treason, and called them “Losers” for doing their jobs. But his post revealed something deeper. He claimed Iran was “on the ropes,” yet the United States is not even conducting its own negotiations anymore. We are negotiating through Pakistan and Qatar at a resort in Switzerland, because our word means nothing. Oman’s foreign minister said publicly that the U.S. has “lost control of its own foreign policy.” The country that built the Marshall Plan and brokered the Camp David Accords now needs intermediaries, because no one trusts us at the table. That is what is being lost beneath the daily chaos, and it will take generations to rebuild.

But the most important thing happened far from that rally. ABC News decided to stop complying. After the FCC launched an investigation into The View and forced an early review of all eight Disney-owned ABC station licenses, retaliation widely seen as punishment over Jimmy Kimmel, ABC began airing national ads directly challenging the FCC and asking viewers to use their voices. They hired a conservative former Bush solicitor general to lead the fight, calling the FCC’s actions “an extraordinary demonstration of power and coercion.” For over a year, institutions folded before they were even asked, what historian Timothy Snyder calls “anticipatory obedience.” ABC tried that. They settled. They suspended Kimmel in the past. It made no difference. So now they are doing the opposite. That is what it looks like when the fear starts to lift, when one institution stands up and makes it a little safer for the next one. The danger is still real. The midterms are still months away. But the fear is lifting.

Trump's biggest supporter is walking away and others will soon follow

Last Thursday, on a little-known Canadian podcast, one of the loudest voices in American right-wing media said something that would have been unthinkable not long ago. Tucker Carlson announced he was leaving the Republican Party. “I’m out,” he said. “And if I’m out, then I think a lot of other people are out.” But this is no profile in courage. Carlson is not a hero or a truth-teller. He campaigned for Trump in 2024, after the insurrection, the indictments, and the verdict finding Trump liable for sexual abuse. And during the Dominion lawsuit, his own private texts revealed that he hated Trump “passionately,” called him “demonic,” and admitted the election fraud claims were baseless, all while defending him on air every night. He always knew. He said it anyway, because it was profitable to pretend. The only thing that changed is that pretending is no longer profitable.

This is what happens when authoritarian coalitions begin to fail. They do not fracture because the people inside wake up to the evil. They fracture because the people inside realize the evil is about to cost them personally. When Mussolini’s own Grand Council voted to remove him in 1943, it was not moral clarity. It was self-preservation. More than thirty House Republicans have already announced they won’t seek reelection. The influencers are walking it back one by one as the numbers turn. But there is a real danger in what comes next. Carlson did not cross the aisle. He stepped away while keeping his options open, and the talk of his own presidential ambitions is growing. If Trump is the wrecking ball, Carlson is the architect, articulate, disciplined, and capable of making extremism sound reasonable. A Carlson presidency would not be Trumpism falling apart. It would be Trumpism growing up.

But the real story today was not Tucker Carlson finding his conscience, because he didn’t. It was that three federal judges, on the same day, all ruled against this administration. One struck down a centralized database being used to wrongfully purge American citizens from the voter rolls. Another, a conservative Bush appointee and former Scalia clerk, quashed grand jury subpoenas targeting Minnesota officials, calling it “a blatantly unlawful and unethical use of the grand-jury process.” A third blocked the administration’s attempt to rewrite the definition of food to strip benefits from 42 million Americans. Three times in one day, the courts said the same thing: you do not get to rewrite the law because it doesn’t align with your agenda. The coalition is splintering from within while the courts hold the line. Every crack buys us time to get to November. And even the people who built this machine now see that it cannot hold.See the full story in the video.
