About Ni-ka Ford, MS, CMI:

Ni-ka is a Board Certified Medical Illustrator and Founder of Enlight Visuals, a medical and scientific visualization studio specializing in accurate and inclusive visuals for healthcare materials and medical and scientific literature. Combining her artistic abilities with research in science and medicine, she creates compelling visuals for both expert and lay audiences. Ni-ka has works with clinicians, physicians, and researchers to create science graphics, surgical illustrations, 3D models, visual aids for teaching medical students and illustrations for journal publications. Her work has been featured in anatomical textbooks, science journals, online learning platforms, and patient education materials. She is committed to contributing to the need for inclusive and diverse representation within medical and healthcare materials. She is an active professional member and Fellow of the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) and previously served as the Chair of their Diversity Committee. She is also a Fellowship Award winner of the AMI Diversity Fellowship for Illustrate Change.

About Brenice Duroseau:Brenice Duroseau, is a nurse practitioner in Maryland with specializations in obstetrics, infectious diseases and addiction medicine. She is an emerging nurse scientist who recently completed her PhD at Johns Hopkins University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing, along with certificates in Health Disparities and Inequality from Johns Hopkins University and Human Sexuality from the Kinsey Institute at Indiana University. Her dissertation explores social, structural, and political determinants of sexual reproductive health (SRH) experiences, engagement, and access among Black women living in Maryland. Her long term professional and personal goals are to improve the lives and sexual reproductive health of Black women globally.

They then recommend the use of weight loss drugs in children 12 years of age in younger for the sole purpose of weight loss. Children 13 and older should be considered as candidates for weight loss surgery.
