NORTH ANDOVER — Caden Cranston scored twice in the final 11 minutes to power Merrimack past Vermont, 4-3, on Saturday night at Lawler Arena.

The Warriors trailed 3-2 in the third period after Daniel Sambuco gave the Catamounts a lead at the 9:35 mark of the third. Cranston scored a few minutes later, tipping a shot from Seamus Powell in front of the net. Cranston scored again with 34 seconds left on a chance in front to give the Warriors the win.

Cranston’s goal at 19:26 marked the first time Merrimack led in the game.

Postgame: Merrimack 4, Northeastern 3

BOSTON — Four different goal scorers and 41 saves from Max Lundgren helped Merrimack beat Northeastern 4-3 on Saturday night at Matthews Arena.

Ethan Bono scored his fifth goal of the season to put the Warriors on the board at the 11:28 mark. The Warriors carried that lead into the late stages of the first period before Northeastern forward Cam Lund scored on the power play to tie the game, 1-1, at the first intermission.

The Warriors exploded for three unanswered second-period goals. Josef Mysak scored his first goal as a Warrior at the 0:52 mark of the second period off a feed from Ryan O’Connell. Seamus Powell scored a power-play goal just over five minutes later to double Merrimack’s lead, and Caden Cranston scored a goal at the 10:42 mark.

Postgame: Brown 5, Merrimack 1

NORTH ANDOVER — Merrimack scored first on a power-play goal by Ty Daneault, but the Brown University Bears scored four unanswered goals and then tacked on an empty-netter for a 5-1 win on Tuesday night at Lawler Arena.

The Warriors fell to 9-13-1 on the season. Brown won its third game in a row after sweeping St. Lawrence and Clarkson over the weekend.
