“Not every conversation is for everybody! Some of our conversations need to be had behind closed doors, inside the community. I have created this space for that very reason. I talk about everything being interconnected. So we don’t talk about Religion having us in a chokehold, without talking about history, patriarchy and psychology. We don’t talk about the fetishisation of Black bodies, without talking about beauty trends, disability stigma, and class. We don’t talk about anime, without talking about SUBS being the only legit way to watch because the Japanese voice actors have the game on LOCK! Ok ok… that last one… Maybe we can add some elements of imagination liberation, culture, anti-Black futures and the role of popular media…? (lol)

The point is, this audio journey is me attempting to contribute to UNFLATTENING our realities through sound. Come along, I am actually quite engaging and occasionally funny…”

www.kymsworld.com

All the things left unsaid because we needed to have the conversation in private...

Kym's World

en

kymsworld@substack.com
<itunes:new-feed-url>https://api.substack.com/feed/podcast/4713142.rss</itunes:new-feed-url><itunes:author>All the things left unsaid because we needed to have the conversation in private...</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>All the things left unsaid because we needed to have the conversation in private...</itunes:subtitle><itunes:type>episodic</itunes:type><itunes:owner><itunes:name>All the things left unsaid because we needed to have the conversation in private...</itunes:name><itunes:email>kymsworld@substack.com</itunes:email></itunes:owner><itunes:explicit>Yes</itunes:explicit><itunes:category text="Society & Culture"/><itunes:category text="Science"><itunes:category text="Social Sciences"/></itunes:category><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/4713142/00e897a9dba03b07575574c9c26c86b2.jpg"/>

The Men of Ancient texts & Modern day Cult Peddlers

This is a free preview of a paid episode. You could say that the men who wrote those ancient texts were the BLUEPRINT for the modern day grifters that walk amongst us.

Whatever you believe about organised religions (whether they be Abrahamic or otherwise), the fact is that we have to be realistic about our perceptions and expectations of flawed men. Who, to begin with, are men - let's start there.

We have little to no evidence in modern history that points to men’s overdose of imbalanced power being good for people or planet (much less spiritual sensibilities). They are masters at scattering sense, reproducing dysfunction, advancing destruction and sowing confusion. Why would that be different because they have an ambiguous title and an old book or scroll in their possession?

Please 😭

My father always tells me to “take the good, and leave the rest”. I implore us all to employ that philosophy. Life is rarely clean cut lines and defined categories of good and evil (as much as we would like it to be), so having a ‘BS filter’ that is attuned to your intuition, is important.

Ok. Thanks. 🥲

Love you 🫶🏾

Kym's World

<itunes:author>Kym's World</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>No</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>30</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/4713142/post/170620933/00e897a9dba03b07575574c9c26c86b2.jpg"/>
