They discuss whether or not the Acceptance stage is a permanent one. If someone is going through the dying process, like Steve is, their physical functionality, relative comfort, and cognitive ability may change as the disease progresses. Any number of symptoms or circumstances threaten to bounce us out of acceptance. Look to God to give you strength in times when you are feeling unstable.
