Hosted by Audrey Kavanagh Dowsett and Nicky Perry, it brings the legacy of a much-loved British restaurant in the West Village into conversation with leading voices from fashion, film, music, literature and beyond.

In This Episode

We sat down with Andy Cohen, Emmy Award winning producer, best selling author, creator and executive producer of the global hit Real Housewives franchise, and the face of Bravo’s long running talk show Watch What Happens Live, for the premiere episode of the Tea and Sympathy Podcast, filmed inside our West Village landmark that has been a cultural hub for more than thirty years. Speaking about London and New York through his eyes, fatherhood and finding balance, Andy, a longtime friend of the restaurant and neighbour of more than two decades, shared stories that capture why Tea and Sympathy has always been a crossroads of British culture and New York life. The conversation touched on Andy’s close friendship with Sarah Jessica Parker, herself a regular at Tea and Sympathy, and his admiration for British icons, including Ralph Fiennes and Hugh Grant. Naomi Campbell, a friend of Nicky Perry and a longstanding supporter of the restaurant, emerged as Andy’s dream Housewife. Nicky recalled a famously cheeky exchange with Prince Edward and revealed how a former partner, a well-known English celebrity, has model train playdates with King Charles. These stories sit alongside Tea and Sympathy’s own guestbook of legends, from Sandra Bernhard and Rupert Everett to the Sykes sisters in their notorious It Girl years, all of whom remind us why the restaurant has become a fixture of British glamour in New York.

—

Host and Executive Producer: Audrey Kavanagh-DowsettCreative Director and Director of Photography: Madeleine PetersProducer: Isabel EvansCinematographer: Zach CaldwellSound Recordist: Catherine HoodColor Correction: Liv PetersHair: Kevin Ryan represented by Art + CommerceMakeup Artist: Jacqueline PiccolaPhotographer: Ian RutterSocial Media Coordinator: Camille DuvallLocation Manager: Iain AndersonStyling Assistant: Sheyla CuevasProduction Assistant: Danielle NcubeThank you to our brilliant crew and neighbours Otte NY, for dressing us.Audrey wears the long sleeve dolman midi dress in bluebell by Victoria Beckham (Victoria Beckham’s AW24).
