We come to the end of our coverage of Midnight Mass on netflix, another epic masterpiece from Mike Flanagan. Episode 6 (Book VI: Acts of the Apostles) brings us to the titular climax as Easter’s Midnight Mass approaches and Monsignor Pruitt introduces his Angel of resurrection to his parish.

In Episode 7 (Book VII: Revelation) we see the impacts of his angel’s resurrection as Crockett Island plunges into a vampiric chaos with the survivors torn between saving themselves and humanity. In the end we get a third, near perfect collaboration between Netflix and Mike Flanagan after Haunting of Hill House and Haunting of Bly Manor. A tour de force of writing, acting, music, cinematography and direction.

Mike Flanagan’s most personal work to date, Midnight Mass on Netflix is a tour de force of acting and writing and episodes 4 & 5 are easily the best of the 7-episode series Flanagan’s writing takes center stage in episode 4 (Lamentations) as Erin (Kate Siegel) and Riley (Zach Gilford) exchanges long, emotional monologues about death, God, and Heaven. Just when Riley seems to be moving forward with Erin, he goes to see Father Paul (Hamish Linklater) and has an encounter with “the Angel”. In episode 5 we see the after effects of the Riley/Angel encounter with Father Paul helping him transition leading to a final, heart wrenching moment with Erin. The acting, writing, score, cinematography… everything just works perfectly in these episodes. Midnight Mass continues the Flanagan tradition of greatness from Haunting of Hill House & Bly Manor

we are reviewing one of our favorite movies of 2020 - THE WOLF OF SNOW HOLLOW!! The Wolf of Snow Hollow is a 2020 American comedy horror film written, directed by and starring Jim Cummings. It also stars Riki Lindhome, Chloe East, and Jimmy Tatro, as well as Robert Forster in his final film role, and to whom the film is dedicated. Christmas with the dead is the 2012 Holiday Themed Zombie movie, which is based on a short story by Joe R. Lansdale, with a screenplay written by his son, Keith Lansdale. Anchorpete was able to interview his friend Nate, who was part of the crew that worked on Christmas with the dead. The movie stars Damian Maffei, Brad Maule, Kasey Lansdale (Joe's daughter who also provided the music for the movie's soundtrack) Chet Williamson and many extras.

Invincible was created by Robert Kirkman. Robert Kirkman is one of the most famous comic writers out there, having created The Walking Dead and a ton of other memorable books. Tyler EC Burnworth and I discuss vol 1 "Family Matters" and Vol 2 "Eight is enough" in this episode. Invincible Follows the story of Mark Grayson, a teenager whose father is the Super Hero, Omni Man. When Mark's powers kick in, he is ready to join his father, get his own costume and take on the Super villains. Along the way he meets the Teen Team, which includes classic Invincible characters like Atom-Eve and Robot. The teen team and so many other major members of this superhero comic are introduced within this first trade. Tyler and I discuss the reasons why this series is so memorable, including Robert Kirkman's love for turning super hero tropes on their head, and Ryan Ottley's beautiful and often visceral artwork.

It also stars Edward Woodward as Sergeant Neil Howie, an unsuspecting cop who is on a path that leads to human sacrifice. Rounding out the cast is Britt Ekland, Diane Cilento and Ingrid Pitt. The film was directed by Robin Hardy, and was written by Anthony Shaffer.

The film was directed by Harry Bradbeer and was written by Nancy Springer and Jack Thorne.

Chris, Danny and Anchorpete handcuff themselves to some bed posts and sit down to review 2017's GERALD'S GAME Gerald's Game is a psychological horror thriller film directed and edited by Mike Flanagan, and screenplay written by Flanagan with Jeff Howard. It is based on Stephen King's 1992 novel of the same title, long thought to be unfilmable. The film stars Carla Gugino and Bruce Greenwood as a married couple who arrive at an isolated house for a holiday. When the husband dies of a sudden heart attack, his wife, left handcuffed to the bed without the key and with little hope of rescue, must find a way to survive, all while battling her inner demons.

Hush, the 2016 Home Invasion movie is a lean mean Horror movie from Director Mike Flanagan. The Lasser Cast crew dive deep into this review of the straight to Netflix film! Kate Siegel, John Gallagher Jr, Samantha Sloyan, and Michael Trucco make up most of the extremely small cast for this intense thriller. Chris (FutureBoyChris) Danny (DrZaiusGOD) and Anchorpete discuss their performances in depth. We talk about the brutality of the movie, and the way Mike Flanagan is able to explain so many things in a movie that only has fifteen minutes worth of dialogue.

Why do I say "Podcast Episode"? Anchorpete has been a YouTube Channel since March of 2020. In that time, Pete and his wife Shari T (along with a handful of other guests) have been reviewing Movies, Novels, Comics and TV shows.
