Words - their origins, patterns, and inconsistencies.Starting with Macbeth and leading onto works including The Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet, and Coriolanus, our conversation examines how specific choices in language begin to raise questions about authorship. What appears, at first, as stylistic complexity starts to look more deliberate, more constructed.As the discussion unfolds, figures like Thomas Nash, Christopher Marlowe, John Dee, and Philip Henslowe, enter the frame. Not as definitive answers, but as indicators that the traditional narrative may not be as settled as it seems.

If one of the most studied literary figures in history carries unresolved questions, what does that suggest about the way historical narratives are formed, preserved, and defended? Why do some ideas stabilise for centuries, even when inconsistencies remain? Not because it didn’t exist, but because it didn’t survive in the form that the patriarchy required.

At the centre of that absence is the Gospel of Mary, a fragmentary text that presents a radically different framework for understanding faith, authority, and spiritual responsibility.

And at the centre of that text is Mary Magdalene. Not as a repentant sinner, not as a marginal follower, but as a teacher. A spiritual figure entrusted with insight, a voice capable of interpreting and guiding others.

That version of Mary didn’t make it into the canon. Instead, something else replaced her. A narrative that recast her as a prostitute, a moral warning, a diminished presence.

That label doesn’t appear in the canonical Gospels. It emerged later, then it was repeated until it became inseparable from her identity. And once that association took hold, her authority collapsed, because people don’t follow voices they’ve been taught to distrust.

This episode of The Luminary Room interrogates how that shift happened. The suppression of Mary’s voice is not an isolated moment in history. It’s part of a broader pattern, one where institutions shape belief not only by what they include, but by what they erase.

This episode doesn’t ask you to replace one belief system with another. It asks you to look closer, to question what you’ve inherited, and to consider a simple but confronting idea that history is not just what’s recorded, rather it’s what was allowed to remain.

If you prefer to sit and read, the published article “Silencing the Feminine as the Vatican and the Patriarchy Erased Mary’s Gospel” is available here on Substack.

Get full access to 369 Lumineer at 369lumineer.substack.com/subscribe

369 Lumineer

<itunes:author>369 Lumineer</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>No</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>754</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/4138946/post/193281457/55908715b862ff737af63d0d4b0bfaed.jpg"/>

EP29: MK Ultra and the Shadow System

In this extended episode of The Luminary Room, we sit down with returning guest Jen V to explore the structure, history, and implications of what is often referred to as the “shadow system” — the intersection of government, military, and classified research operating beyond public visibility. The conversation moves from foundational concepts like black budgets and oversight, into the Cold War origins of covert experimentation, examining programs such as Project BLUEBIRD, Project ARTICHOKE, and ultimately MK-Ultra.

Together, we unpack how these initiatives evolved from interrogation into attempts at behavioural influence, and what that reveals about intent, power, and control.As the discussion deepens, the focus shifts toward ethical boundaries and historical precedent, referencing cases like the Tuskegee Syphilis Study to explore how secrecy and justification have operated in practice. We close by examining modern parallels, information control, and the role of public awareness in navigating complex and often uncomfortable material. This is a measured, thought-provoking conversation that invites you to question where the line sits between necessary secrecy and unchecked authority — and whether that line is as fixed as we’re led to believe.

Useful Links

* National Security Archives

* Archives (declassified)

* CIA (Reading Room)

* Freedom of Information (USA)

* Web Archive (Wayback machine)

Relevant Written Essays by 369 Lumineer (Substack)

* Trauma-Based Mind Control and the Manufacturing of Obedience

* Social Engineering Went Mainstream and Tavistock Was Already There

* Project Minot and the War on Time

* A Crime Across Presidencies: How the U.S. Government Let Black Men Die in Tuskegee for Forty Years

Relevant The Luminary Room podcast episodes

* EP21: Trauma Based Mind Control and the Manufacturing of Obedience (15-min, podcast, YouTube)

* EP24: The War on Human Memory (13-min, podcast, YouTube)

* EP25: When Social Engineering Went Mainstream (18-min, podcast, Substack/YouTube/Spotify)

* EP26: The Architecture of Secrecy and the War on Time (20-min, podcast, Substack/YouTube/Spotify)

Get full access to 369 Lumineer at 369lumineer.substack.com/subscribe

369 Lumineer

<itunes:author>369 Lumineer</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>No</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>5180</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/4138946/post/192965011/55908715b862ff737af63d0d4b0bfaed.jpg"/>

EP 9: The Medicine They Couldn't Patent

Awarded the 1903 Nobel Prize for his pioneering work treating lupus vulgaris, Finsen proved that concentrated light is medicine. History, religion, science, media, culture, government — no topic is off-limits when the goal is clarity. We investigate, we cross-reference, and we ask the questions others avoid. No conspiracy. No blind acceptance. Just the pursuit of what’s real.

Step inside The Luminary Room and see what happens when the veil is lifted.

Thanks for listening to, and reading, my work! His laws of motion, the theory of gravity, and the invention of calculus form the foundation of what generations of students have been taught as the birth of modern science. The story is simple and powerful: a solitary genius who revealed the hidden mechanics of the universe.

But history is rarely that simple.

In this 15-minute illumination session, we explore the little-known archive known as the Portsmouth Papers — a collection of Newton’s private manuscripts, letters, and drafts that remained largely hidden for centuries. These documents reveal a far more complicated figure than the tidy hero presented in textbooks.

The investigation leads us into the political and intellectual networks of the early eighteenth century and to the role of Venetian philosopher Antonio Conti, a figure who moved between Paris, London, and Venice while promoting Newtonian ideas within powerful Enlightenment circles. Was Newton’s elevation purely the result of revolutionary science, or did broader cultural and geopolitical forces help shape his legend?

We also revisit the contributions of earlier thinkers such as Johannes Kepler, whose laws of planetary motion transformed astronomy decades before Newton’s Principia, and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, whose development of calculus sparked one of the most bitter priority disputes in the history of science.

What unfolds is not simply a story about scientific discovery. It’s a story about influence, reputation, institutional power, and the way historical narratives are constructed.

Episode 27 of The Luminary Room invites you to reconsider one of the most celebrated names in science and to reflect on how historical narratives are formed, preserved, and repeated for generations.

If you enjoy thoughtful investigations into history, science, culture, and the forces that shape public understanding, make sure to follow and subscribe for future illumination sessions.

Because sometimes the most important discoveries are not found in labs or textbooks. They’re found in the archives.

Get full access to 369 Lumineer at 369lumineer.substack.com/subscribe

369 Lumineer

<itunes:author>369 Lumineer</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>No</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>922</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/4138946/post/191153257/55908715b862ff737af63d0d4b0bfaed.jpg"/>

EP26: The Architecture of Secrecy and The War on Time

Over the last century, institutions have begun treating time differently. Using Libya as a central case study, we explore how power responds when sovereignty, independent monetary systems, and regional influence threaten the established global order.Rather than focusing on individuals, the discussion traces recurring patterns across modern history, from regime change narratives to humanitarian justifications and post-conflict reconstruction. It asks a difficult question. Are these outcomes accidental, or are they the predictable consequences of defying a system designed to enforce compliance?This is not a defence of any one leader or state.
