Matt is a co-founder of CoLab Debate an Oregon-based nonprofit learning center for debate and collaborative leadership. It's a very cool, stimulating, and ambitious project to offer debate education that goes beyond the tournament. 

Matt wrote a post on the Colab Debate website, titled Shouldn't Everyone Debate? that I found fascinating and asked him a bunch of questions about as well!

In this lecture I try to orient the class to the idea of debate as a discourse, a part of rhetoric, and try to dissociate debate from the negative assumptions we make about it from our culture of rhetorical poverty.
