If you remember last time, we talked about the rare conjunction of Saturn and Neptune that will shape our lives for the next thirty-six years. We looked back to 1989 to begin to understand the turning points we will each face this year.

Today we’ll look at a brighter, more easeful and less rare transit, that is Jupiter’s visit to your Leo House, which happens every twelve years. Jupiter’s primary job is to expand things. We associate him with good fortune, wisdom, grace and luck, but his essence is really to make things bigger: mostly, but not always, for the better. He spends about a year in each sign, and his transits bring mood shifts in the collective; we see Jupiter in what we give attention to and what increases in society, in popular culture, and also in our own hearts.

Jupiter in Leo, July 2026 - July 2027

Since July of 2025, Jupiter has been in the sign of emotional flow and healing springs, the sacred mother and saltwater cures, devotion to the motherland and overflowing sentiment - Cancer. It’s been a year of big emotions, a year of nostalgia and nationalism and concerns about safety and family and country. In many ways we’ve seen that bigger isn’t always better with the way these things have played out in the collective, but I’m willing to bet that you personally have seen good fortune and positive expansion in your Cancer House. We have six more months to benefit from this increased flow of Cardinal Water, until July 2026, when Jupiter moves into the fixed fire of Leo.

So what fires of friendship, creativity, and self-love were burning in your heart for a year beginning the summer of 2014? Those fires will burn up again from their dormant coals this summer. Are you ready?

Do a little activity with me now. Grab your phone and open your photo library. Go back to July 2014, soften your gaze, and slowly scroll through that year. What impressions hit you first? What are the dominant colours, faces, places, and moods? How is this different from your life now, or since? Write down some of your impressions, even before you look closer and start to sort through memories. What was your dominant mood that year? What colours and images caught your eye? What experiences were most important?

When I look at that year, I see colour. Flowers, fruit, and shining faces. I see sunlit skies and dry landscapes, circles of women, and a lot of, well, ME. When I look a bit closer, and start to remember, the imagery reveals itself to be almost comically Leo. There are fires and deserts, big yellow flowers and lots of selfies, there’s even a picture of me on a throne. There is a lot of art, and a lot of joy.

Practice: Look back to look forward

* Open your photos from July 2014 through mid-2015. Scroll slowly.

* Write three objects, three colours, three faces or places, and three moods that defined that season for you.

* Feel for the words that are most alive for you now. These are your foundations for Jupiter in Leo in 2026.

For instance mine were:

A flower, a fire, a circle of women.

Me, a new dear friend, my daughter, myself.

The desert, the embrace of family, morning sunshine.

I am confident, I am charismatic, I am celebratory.

Jupiter in Leo is comfortable and strong under the rulership of the Sun. Though not ruling or exalted, Jupiter has an affinity with the diurnal sect-light, they play together well, sharing themes of royalty, leadership, success, expansion, and light.

So what might we expect to see in the world around us, when Jupiter finally enters Leo? Charismatic leadership, over-the-top displays of celebrity and royalty, big magnanimous and very public gestures and displays of wealth and power, especially early in the transit as Jupiter opposes Pluto. Also, inflation of all kinds; economies, egos, dreams, promises. My hope is that the supportive trine from Saturn in Aries will ground this tendency, but we will have to see how it plays out.

On a more personal scale, we can hopefully benefit from the positives of this transit. You may feel ripe and ready to step into authentic leadership, you may feel new confidence in your dreams, and deeper faith in yourself, your capacities, your gifts, and your ability to shine. Which House is your Leo House? This is where the warmth and expansiveness of this transit will lift and open you. There is so much to look forward to!

On this Aquarius Cross-Quarter day,

I invite you to reflect on what is awakening from hibernation within you, what has been dormant that is now waking up. I invite you to reflect on what feels vulnerable and new and worthy of protection. I invite you to ponder how that vulnerability shifts your perception of mortality, and how this moment helps you to integrate that shadow of mortality and work with the possibilities, both of beautiful potential growth and of the wasting and loss of things, because those are both part of the cycle that we see at this time of year. And, I invite you to ritualize or ceremonialize this awareness.

In the brief video above (16 minutes viewing time) I’ll guide us in deeply connecting with the Aquarian cross-quarter, aka Imbolc, a pivotal seasonal threshold in the northern hemisphere.
