What began as an unimaginable shock — Dominick had no prior mental health diagnosis and his death came completely out of nowhere — became the catalyst for a life of purpose. Many people of all ages have experienced depression and anxiety resulting from the stay-at-home restrictions. Some have lost friends and loved ones to COVID-19, some have lost jobs and are experiencing financial and food insecurity. Kids and teens have lost valuable educational and social interactions. And for people with mental health diagnoses, the loss of face-to-face services and supports have had a major impact. There are steps that can be taken as part of an overall positive approach to mental health. Our panel of experts will be discussing the importance of exercise, mindfulness, and nutrition as part of a holistic approach to mental health. Our panelists are Chuck Markham, LPC, Sussex Therapy, Debra Chase, Owner and Coach, Crossfit Skunk, and Rosa Stycheck, Yoga Instructor DISCLAIMER: While many find the information and experiences that we share helpful, they are in no way a substitute for professional medical care. Team Up for Hope does not engage in the practice of medicine. In all cases, we recommend that you consult your own physician regarding any course of treatment or medicine.

Get full access to Team Up For Hope at teamupforhope.substack.com/subscribe

Team Up For Hope

<itunes:author>Team Up For Hope</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>No</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>3224</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/2392015/post/152065285/880035721da36c6080d1f00d1c5137d8.jpg"/>

Join us for a "Live" interview about the Crisis in Ukraine

As the invasion of Ukraine continues, Team Up for Hope has decided that we want to do everything we can to assist the individuals affected. Bobi grew up and still lives in the Appalachian region of Eastern Kentucky. During this conversation, we will not only learn how Bobi survived abuse & the impacts of family drug addiction, but we will also get an insider's look at life in that region from a perspective of mental health & substance use challenges.

Author - Bobi Conn was born in Morehead, Kentucky, and raised in a nearby holler, where she developed a deep connection with the land and her Appalachian roots. She obtained her bachelor’s degree at Berea College, the first school in the American South to integrate racially and to teach men and women in the same classrooms. After struggling as a single mother, she worked multiple part-time jobs at once to support her son and to attend graduate school, where she earned a master’s degree in English with an emphasis on creative writing. In addition to writing, Bobi loves playing pool, cooking, being in the woods, attempting to grow a garden, and spending time with her incredible children.

Link to Bob Conn's memoir: In the Shadow of the Valley: A Memoir: Conn, Bobi: 9781542004169: Amazon.com: Books- here

You can also learn more about Bobi on her website.

Get full access to Team Up For Hope at teamupforhope.substack.com/subscribe

Team Up For Hope

<itunes:author>Team Up For Hope</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>No</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>3530</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/2392015/post/152061738/880035721da36c6080d1f00d1c5137d8.jpg"/>

Sean's Dream with Lisa Dembeck

"We all have the same destination of success with different beautiful paths to get there” Sean's Dream is a mental health nonprofit located in Orange County, New York.
