So, the flesh, which is the sin-loving nature that is resident in a person, must be dealt with if a Christian is really to manifest the nature of God.

Such transformation of an individual is at the core of the gospel. Where the flesh is not dealt with, the gospel message becomes ineffective, even to the point of becoming irrelevant.
