Stephen is the behavioural science director at the Kellogg Company, so I asked him all about the role of behavioural science in modern marketing.

And since he also used to work for the cabinet office, I squeezed in a question about the current UK government’s messaging strategy while I had the chance.

It’s an illuminating discussion, so hopefully you enjoy. I learnt a lot anyway which, although not the point of doing this, is a nice bonus.

Important to note: All opinions expressed by Stephen are his own personal views, and are not necessarily those of the Kellogg Company.

There are links to the episode on Spotify/Apple/Google via this link, if you prefer to follow us on there: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1337584

We’ll be back next week with another high-kicking, text-heavy, all-action edition of hi, tech..

Until then, have a great week! 🤓

Get full access to hi, tech. at hitech.substack.com/subscribe

Clark Boyd

<itunes:author>Clark Boyd</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>No</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>1643</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/21200/post/16828979/642eae8c9c94e3d3ce744e5ea8053ec9.jpg"/>

hi, tech. Podcast 1: 🍷 Tastry Interview with Katerina Axelsson

👋 Hi, everyone!

We’re always innovating around here, as you know.

There was that time we wrote about robots, the day we got a new logo… y’know, there are others.

🎙 And now, we bring you: hi, tech. audio! On a Tuesday!

This was an accidental undertaking, as all the best undertakings are.

I wrote about a company called Tastry way back in our Wine edition.

They are a fascinating business that, to quote their website, matches “products to people using chemistry, machine learning and every person's individual palate.”

I contacted their CEO and founder, Katerina Axelsson, and we had a great chat last week. So great, in fact, that I figured it would be of interest to our subscribers.

We had another chat this week, then I added a royalty-free musical sting at the beginning, and here we are.

Podcasting? Piece of cake.

We discussed:

* Why Katerina decided to found Tastry.

* Their unique approach to understanding the chemistry of wine.

* How can science improve a highly subjective industry like wine?

* Tastry’s technology for matching consumers to products they will love.

* Plenty more!

Have a listen and see what you think!

🍷 You can find out more about Tastry here: https://tastry.com/

📱 And try out their app here: https://bottlebird.com/

Like this episode?
