Thank you so much for sending in your questions.

The Plates Membership SurveyAs some of you might have heard, I’m planning to launch a membership programme this year. It’s not a standard magazine subscription. Instead, I’m hoping to seek out and connect kindred spirits in this space. So, I’ve created this survey, which will hopefully help me gauge the wireframe of this membership programme. It’s completely anonymous (unless you opt to add your contact details at the end).

If you have four to five minutes to spare today, consider filling out the survey here (there are only four questions). I would greatly appreciate your input.

P/S I’m really happy to see a few of you pulling up those upturned milk crates to get the introductions rolling in this thread. Starting the year off with some basic internet connection setbacks. But it’s fixed — for now. (In addition to its four-day hiatus, my WiFi driver has disappeared countless times as I struggle to type this out in between ‘unsaved changes’ and ‘network errors’.) I would throw in the towel on Windows OS, but attempting to teach myself Linux (plus reinstalling a bunch softwares) might not be the best project to take on right now. I did, however, treat myself to a USB WiFi and Bluetooth adaptor purchase last night. So, hopefully that will put an end to this lot of tech woes. Thanks for your patience (again) with this week’s sound bite. Here’s episode four of ‘The Basics’ series. Next up: I’ll be doing a fire Q&A round. So, if you have any questions about the podcast, the magazine, or these digital postcards, feel free to reply to this email with your questions. I look forward to hearing from you. Here’s to a happy, healthy and inspiring New Year ahead. —

Produced by Dee May Tan for Plates Magazine

Recorded at Rimbun Dahan artist residency

Music: ‘Robotertanz’ ‘Higher Up’ by Shane Ivers - https://www.silvermansound.com

Get full access to (side) PLATES at plates.substack.com/subscribe

Dee May Tan

<itunes:author>Dee May Tan</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>No</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>592</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://substackcdn.com/feed/podcast/187329/post/31096668/3841033accaa96d812affe33eb432e56.jpg"/>

The basics: What's in the name?
