New Moon at 14º23 of Cancer. 07/05/2024

This Moon ruled lunation arrives on Friday evening and happens on the midpoint between the Eclipses, which makes this beginning a point of the energetic lift, which unlike Eclipses where we must observe and take in the unfoldings, the midpoint invites us to use the discoveries, the breakdowns, the breakthroughs and the self that has emerged and is looking at the world with fresh eyes to make changes, to run towards things you desire so much and do it in the spirit of radical nourishment and recognition of the whole spectrum of you human emotional condition.

This particular Cancer New Moon brings the goodness of the constructive and caring, externally audacious and internally soft, compassionate and not suffering fools new beginnings. I urge you to contemplate on how much gentleness with yourself it will require to move forward boldly, and how much devotion the path ahead needs to keep appearing. Truthfully the devotion cannot be forced, one can only be devoted in a state of profound trust, and everything the cosmos presented us with in the last few years was to cultivate a great deal of trust to the softness and care we really need, because the world will keep meeting us with sharp edges, and without devotion to softness sooner or later the self abandonment always kicks in. 

Interesting that this lunation is between two very Saturnian and boundary reinforcing Full Moons in Capricorn. The mature and tempered ability to bring things to culmination, to proper endings, to pull the correct lessons out of difficult experiences and to understand our own limitations are some of the essentials to open new doors. It is in the quality and the acceptance of the ending, that we are able to begin differently. Because Moon greatly deals with patterns, we need to first clearly see the patterns that revolve around lack of trust, abandonment of one’s needs and over reliance on the structures that have proved to be to our great detriment. 

Cancer is about all aspects of life that bring us safety, food, shelter, family and so on, whatever that is, if we are holding on to safety in detriment to our inner power and sovereignty, we don’t understand safety at all. Safety in the world where we don’t understand our authority and value is an illusion, and can be taken away at a whim. This lunation we ought to make choices and initiations that allow for true safety and nourishment to take place, not a subdued sense of security that feels like a trap. Cancer is what we do privately, what we do to protect our safety and security in the long term. This is cardinal courage to make changes in the face of outer authority that is being activated, this is understanding the past misuse of energy, and course correcting. This is not sacrificing oneself but fighting for oneself, the line can be really blurred here. This is a very emotionally bold lunation, act accordingly.

This New Moon echoes and takes to a whole next level the initiations, visions and innovations that have been circling in our orb since the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction on April 20th. The next 4 weeks are for a grounded, gentle and slow attunement with the very much radical change in direction your life is taking, this is a period when we need to keep in check the restlessness and fear of disruption of our material stability, and lean into trust that if we tap into enough stillness and pleasure, if we create moments of joy throughout the days to come, we can co-create with these energies something deeply steeped in our values and truly rewarding. 

The New Moon takes place in conjunction to Uranus, and is placed between Uranus and Venus. To put it simply, this is a revolution of values and investments. In the fixed earthly domain of Taurus, change is not something that is taken lightly, but with these configurations, change is awaited, expected and met with a great sense of commitment. Fixed earth moves slowly, but when it moves, the whole fabric of our existence moves and changes with it. Resources, energetic, financial, emotional and relational have to be looked at through a lens of the realizations of the last couple of months. We need to ask ourselves some questions like, do we have an adequate way of restoring our energetic and financial condition, how do we perpetually leave ourselves drained, what is our main resource and how can we prioritize pleasure and joy more?

The sextile with Saturn in Pisces is allowing us to begin anew from a space of deep awareness that our emotional condition directly impacts our relationship with abundance. And the key components here are the incredible self compassion and ability to devote oneself to what truly fills you up with joy.
