This season, I wanted to slow it down and sit with it properly.

Because grief doesn’t just arrive through bereavement. It shows up in break-ups, in diagnoses, in identity shifts, in the losses we don’t always name — and I hear this again and again from my clients. Often, it’s only when a light is gently shone on it that people realise this is grief.

So in Season 3, I’m getting a little closer. I’ll be sharing some of my own experiences of grief and loss and holding space for the many ways it can live in our bodies, relationships, and lives.

The format remains the same—short, honest, and gentle. My hope is that each episode offers you something to recognise yourself in. If it does, you’re welcome to share it with someone who might need it, too.

Episode 18: When Grief Lives in the Body

Grief isn’t only something we think about; it’s something the body carries.

In this final episode of the season, I explore how loss lives beyond our thoughts, why grief often shows up physically, and how small acts of regulation and self-soothing can help us gently move alongside it.

🎶 Musical snack: Whisper Of A Thrill by Thomas Newman.

(A classical accompaniment to sit with after listening. I hope you appreciate my tone 🤣.

We don’t just grieve people. We can grieve versions of ourselves. I think this is more nuanced than we give ourselves credit for, given the societal and cultural expectations placed on women. I don’t have time to delve into all aspects of this, but as a woman in midlife, I have reflected on it a lot.

This is a mixed bag that touches on ageing, identity, dating double standards, and the quiet compassion that comes when you finally step outside the cultural script.

In this episode, I explore the grief of youth: not because I want to go back, but because I wish I had known sooner that I was already enough.

🎶 Musical snack: Strange (feat. But over the years, I’ve realised they’re really about protecting what’s sacred within. And I’ll be honest: even I didn’t see how often I was giving my own boundaries away, offering easy access to my time, energy, and capacity without noticing the cost.

Boundaries aren’t rejection; they’re clarity. They help you stay rooted in what’s true for you, rather than leaking your energy to keep the peace or avoid disappointing someone. In this short-form episode, we explore why setting limits can feel uncomfortable, how to do it kindly, and why saying “no” might be the most loving act — for yourself and for the relationships that matter.

🎶 Musical snack: Clair de Lune – Debussy

(A classical accompaniment to sit with after listening. Learning the Difference Before It’s Too Late

Lately, I’ve noticed how often we call exhaustion “normal.” We wear tiredness like a medal of meaning, convincing ourselves that rest is a luxury we’ll get to later. I, too, am very guilty of this. But burnout doesn’t happen all at once; it creeps in quietly, disguised as discipline and disguised as drive. In this short-form podcast, I talk about how to recognise the moment when tired turns to depleted, why “pushing through” is rarely the answer, and how to start restoring energy before you fall apart.

🎶 Musical snack: Spiegel im Spiegel – Arvo Pärt

(A classical accompaniment to sit with after listening.
