Not just on this channel. Not just through the work of Save the Parish. But in the comments sections, in PCC meetings, and now in the letters pages of the national press.

Last week the Daily Telegraph published four letters about the state of the Church of England. Four people, from four different counties, writing independently, saying what three videos in this series have been building toward. And two of those letters come from people in my own deanery — two miles from this parish.

In this video I read all four letters and respond to each one honestly. I also address the question that keeps coming up in the comments: if one vicar one church is the answer, where are the vicars going to come from? And I want to tell you something about what is happening here, in Chalfont St Giles, that I think matters for this conversation. The people are speaking. Is the Church of England listening?

This is a public episode. A hearing is being held this month to decide whether it goes ahead anyway. This is not a hypothetical. This is Kerrier deanery in the Diocese of Truro. And the diocese's own documents are making the case against this model better than any critic could. This is the third video in a series. If you haven't seen videos one and two, I've linked them below.Videos in this series:Video 1 — The Church Knows What Works... Objections are called representations and are submitted to the Church Commissioners' Mission, Pastoral and Church Property Committee. Anyone may object, not just directly affected parties. Objections must be considered. If the Commissioners proceed despite objections they must give written reasons to every objector. I am not a Christian nationalist, and I have spoken about that before on this channel. But I also think the response represented by this march misunderstands the problem, misreads the people it is trying to reach, and repeats the same mistake the Church keeps making — condemning the fruit while watering the root.We need a Church that holds grace and truth together. For some, this is simply organisational reform. For others, it represents a deeper question about authority, unity, and the future of the Anglican Communion.

In this podcast, I look at what was actually announced in Abuja, why GAFCON leaders believe change is necessary, and how this moment relates to wider conversations across the Communion about doctrine, discipline, and leadership.

We will also explore the broader context. At the same time as GAFCON has been meeting, the Anglican Consultative Council has been considering the Nairobi–Cairo proposals, which explore reforms to the Communion’s structures and the role of Canterbury. The allegations are serious, the suffering behind them is real, and the questions they raise about power, influence, and accountability are not easy to answer. In this podcast I step back from the noise and speculation to think carefully about what scandals like this reveal about the nature of power itself. Scripture has never been naïve about the human heart. From Genesis to the New Testament the Bible repeatedly warns that influence without accountability can distort judgment, conceal wrongdoing, and gradually reshape how people see themselves and others. But the Christian response cannot be outrage alone. The Kingdom of Christ presents a radically different vision of authority. Where worldly power seeks insulation and protection, Christ reveals authority through truth, humility, and sacrificial leadership. As Christians we must resist both cynicism and spectacle. Instead we are called to pursue accountability, protect the vulnerable, examine our own communities honestly, and remember that every earthly system will ultimately answer to the risen King.

This is a public episode. But the real story isn’t the numbers — it’s how the Church is responding to them. When a senior bishop reassures couples that they don’t need to be churchgoers, baptised, or living as disciples to have a church wedding, it raises a deeper question: have we forgotten what Christian marriage is actually for?Marriage in Scripture is a covenant before God — holy, weighty, and shaped by discipleship. As the Supreme Governor of the Church of England, his words shape how millions of people imagine what Christianity actually is. So how should faithful Christians hear it? And how do we respond without outrage, without cynicism, and without losing sight of Jesus?

In this video I look carefully at what the King said, why the language matters for the gospel, and how we hold together two things at once: genuine thankfulness whenever Christ is named truthfully, and a longing for clearer witness to the uniqueness of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

This is not about judging the King’s heart. It is about public witness and theological clarity. Scripture reminds us that salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). So we think carefully, we speak truthfully, and we keep our hope centred on Christ, the true King whose Kingdom cannot be shaken.

If you are one of those believers trying to stay anchored in Scripture and steady in both truth and love in confusing times, you are not alone. There is a growing faithful remnant across the nation seeking to follow Jesus with clarity and compassion. While this vote is often framed as symbolic or procedural, it raises serious questions about doctrine, worship, authority, and the future direction of the Church. In this podcast, I examine what the bishops are actually being asked to decide, the open letter sent to them by Inclusive Church, and the growing pressure surrounding the Prayers of Love and Faith. Drawing on Church Times reporting and the Church of England’s own Faith and Order and legal papers, I trace how theology, liturgy, discipline, and law are now being held together, and where the tensions lie.Public worship is never neutral. What the Church prays and performs shapes what the Church teaches and believes. That is why the distinction between pastoral care and doctrinal change matters, and why clarity is not the enemy of compassion. This podcast is for those who want to think carefully, pray faithfully, and remain rooted in Christ in a time of real pressure and confusion.

This is a public episode. The Living in Love and Faith process has left the Church of England more divided than ever, as bishops, deans, and clergy clash over blessing same sex relationships and biblical authority. While the hierarchy wavers, thousands of ordinary believers are stepping out in faith, from churches joining the Shine Your Light prayer weekend across Britain, to evangelist Ben Jack urging the global Church not to dilute the gospel at the World Evangelical Alliance Assembly. At the same time, persecuted Christians in Nigeria continue to rebuild their churches brick by brick, showing the world that the gospel is fireproof. In Finland, MP Päivi Räsänen and Bishop Juhana Pohjola face their nation’s Supreme Court for quoting Scripture, a case that will decide whether biblical truth can still be spoken in Europe without fear. And even as truth stands trial, the Word of God keeps running free, with Wycliffe Bible Translators celebrating Scripture now available in over 4,000 languages worldwide. Through it all, one message stands clear. The Church may be shaking, but the Kingdom is not. Christ is still building His Church in the courtroom, in the refugee camp, in the streets, and in the heart that refuses to give up on truth.

Engage with me - https://lm.fm/mylinks

Support me: Ko-Fi - https://ko-fi.com/monoingles

Substack- https://lm.fm/substack

Email: revdan@btrministries.org

Articles: https://www.churchtimes.co.uk/articles/2025/31-october/news/uk/anger-voiced-over-house-of-bishops-living-in-love-and-faith-decision https://www.christiantoday.com/news/churches-to-hold-72-hour-prayer-vigils-at-halloween https://www.christiantoday.com/news/go-out-to-the-world-but-dont-dilute-the-gospel-says-evangelist https://www.christiantoday.com/news/where-is-the-church-religious-freedom-advocate-decries-churchs-silence-amid-global-persecution-crisis https://www.christiantoday.com/news/finlands-top-court-to-hear-free-speech-case-over-bible-based-comments https://www.christiantoday.com/news/bible-translation-accelerates-as-millions-receive-scripture-in-their-own-language?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Disclaimer: The views expressed on this channel are my own and do not necessarily reflect the official position of the Church of England or any other organisation.
