It starts out in both places by talking about the singers, how they’re dressed in white linen robes, white and pure, the psalteries and harps, and fine singing giving glory and praise to God. God is good, for his mercies endure forever. This is the song that they were singing before the Lord filled the new Temple with a cloud of his presence from his glory, so that by reason of the cloud, the priests could not enter in because of the cloud.

When looking at Revelation, we have the same girded saints, clothed in fine linen, pure and bright, with a golden sash, singing the song of Moses, and song that no one knew except the ones singing it. What does it say? It might say something like what we find in 2nd Chronicles, that God is good, and His mercies endure forever. The praise brought on the presence, the glory, and the cloud, and it filled the temple in Revelation so that no one was able to go in for the thickness of the smoke.

I’ve found that most of Revelation reverts back to passages in the Old Testament. The colors of the horses, what God has used in the past to bring judgment for disobedience, his presence, his great love that he has for us, and his desire to be in an everlasting fellowship with us, his creation.

As scared as I am right now of this big snow storm we’re having, and I’ve prayed that it will pass over us and not do what they’re saying, because nothing is impossible with God, I’m thankful that I have a desire right now to do some Bible study and try to get back into sharing with you, about his presence. I’m thankful for some time of fellowship with him in his word. In times of fear and trouble, we can find comfort in the Lord. He is our ever present help in time of trouble, and it’s good to know that we can call out for help and find him when our souls are in distress, and when things come against our physical bodies. It’s good to know that I can trust in him to take care of me when people are saying that it doesn’t look good.

I had an incident to happen yesterday that I just can’t thank and praise him enough for. I did something really stupid. I left a notebook with some very special confidential information in it laying on the back of the trunk of my car, then I drove off. It wasn’t until I got back home an hour away that I realized I didn’t have it with me to put back into safe keeping. What an absolute calamity! I’m telling you, I was beside myself when I discovered that it wasn’t there. I started calling the place I had been to see if someone could go and look in the place that I had parked. The Secretary I spoke to had notified the entire Sheriff’s Office and Deputies to be on the lookout for it, and if found, to return to her office. That just goes to show you, that people will go above and beyond what you expected, and that there are still very good people in the world. I changed clothes, because I had a dress on, and I didn’t know what I might have to do in order to retrieve it if I found it, and how fast I would need to do it because of traffic. People were out everywhere preparing for the incoming snow storm, and I was in an area that I didn’t know very well. I immediately began to pray that the Lord would help me find it, or that someone else would find it and turn it in. I drove the hour to get there and scanned the rural road on both sides as I drove in hopes of seeing it somewhere before I got to where I had been, but I didn’t see anything. I went to the parking lot to no avail, and began the drive home. I pulled off of the road into a furniture store parking lot to let cars go ahead of me because I wanted to go slow so that I could look. I made it around the first big sharp curve, and had all but given up, when suddenly, I saw strewn out papers on a hillside. I said to myself, those looked fresh! I think I found it! I was near a traffic light and a shopping center, so I turned in there and turned around. Luckily, there was a body shop and a driveway just beside the little hill, so I parked and got out. I knew that if I picked up the first piece of paper to look at it that I would know if it was mine or not, and sure enough, it was from the brand new pad of letterhead notebook paper, and I knew it was mine! I didn’t see the notebook, but I knew it had to be there somewhere. My eyes trailed up the road to see the bright yellow folder sticking out of the side pocket of the black notebook. I had to straddle a ditch filled with leaves to stay off the road and the hill because cars were flying around through there, and there was nowhere to go. I was in real danger trying to get it, and when I reached it, I tried to listen to hear if a car was coming, and as I raised up with it, a truck came flying around the steep curve and blew the horn at me. It was very dangerous, but I prayed that I wouldn’t get ran over, and I had to do it, because I could not lose those important papers. The moral of the story is that the Lord helped me find them, and he kept me safe while doing it. I tried to be careful and do it wisely, but there really was no real way to do it besides what I did. He is an ever present help in time of trouble, and I was in real trouble. Praise God, he helped me, and he kept me safe! Those papers weren’t worth my life, but I was willing to risk it by trusting God and asking for his help. It wasn’t myself that I was trying to protect by saving the papers, but for the sake of others that they pertained to, did I have to have them back in my possession. Jesus is kind of like that. He risked his life so that he could protect us and have us as his possession. I learned to trust Jesus even more yesterday, and I was absolutely astonished that I found the notebook, even though I fully believed that I would, I almost missed it had it not been for the strewn papers on the hillside, because I had already passed it, and didn’t see it just off the side of the road, for concentrating on getting around the curve. It had been ripped in two from the cover, but nothing was even missing or damaged, and still tucked neatly into the little pocket, just as I had placed them. All of my confidential church stuff was also in there, and I’ve kept it for years from fiscal reports and board elections. I’m just thankful to be alive, and that I have my most important papers. They’re never leaving the house again! lol It just goes to show you that everything in life comes down to trusting and having faith in Christ. We can’t do without him a single second, and we need to keep him in mind in everything we do because it matters. He’s never far away or unseeing to what is happening or going on in our lives, and he cares about us, even in the small things.

Back to the study, we find that Solomon was a king who collected 666 talents of gold each year, as revenue from taxation on the crossroads of the trade routes, where he had strategically placed collectors there. That is how we know that the man of sin, son of ruin, or anti-christ, is the sinful inner man who is controlled by a system of the devil’s deception relating to commerce or wealth, and has faith and trust in himself, and his riches, because that is his number. It’s the number of a man. Who is that man where we have found before in the scriptures referred to by the same number? It is Solomon. In the end, Solomon fell out of fellowship with God and worshipped the other gods of his wives, who ultimately drew his heart away from God.

We find the temple being at the center of what is going on in both books of passages, and we can try to remember Jesus’ words on the subject matter. Jesus said that you can’t serve two masters, that you will hate the one and love the other, and that you can’t love God and money, or mammon. That shows us right there what all of the world’s deception is about. It’s about money, and man’s love of it to the point that he puts all of his faith and trust in his own ability to have it and get it, and to buy what he wants with it of all the world’s treasures he has his eyes on. Satan has been using this deception since the creation of gold and silver, that God made, to control the world by as having some type of value. It’s just metal! What is really the worth of it? They made idols with it. They traded goods for it. They bought things with it. I wonder whose idea it was to use it for such purposes? Jesus said we were bought with a price. Deuteronomy states that a slave’s worth if they were trampled by cattle was 30 pieces of silver. We are slaves to sin and Satan until we are redeemed. Jesus was betrayed by Judas for 30 pieces of silver. I believe Jesus has paid our price to be his legally. I think in the courtroom of heaven you would find all of the accounts owed squared, even if that did mean the devil had to be paid for it to release us from our slavery that he has made us bondservants of. What is his money really going to buy him in the end? Satan will have nothing even if he has all the money in the world. The money is really God’s. He owns everything. There’s an old hymn I’m reminded of that better describes it, it’s called The Old Account Was Settled Long Ago.

We find the patriarchs like Abraham buying a field with a cave for it to bury Sarah in. David bought the threshingfloor of Ornan with it to make the Lord a sacrifice to stay the plague from Jerusalem, when he pridefully numbered all of the tribes of Israel that the Lord had given him after he had defeated the giants of the Philistines. Solomon bought horses and fine linen from Egypt with it, after God told them not to have any dealings with them after he brought them out of there. His marriage to the Pharaoh’s daughter could have been to secure copper mining territory in Timna and the southern Leavant. The lady with the two mites who put in the offering all that she had was recognized as being more righteous than a wealthy man who put in very little offering. It’s what’s in your heart that you want to give to God, and use in service to him, to help others. Money has been used to pay the temple taxes with silver shekels. God has asked that we tithe 10% of what we make in income to his use. Is that because the world’s system, as we understand it, revolves around this thing called money? It all belongs to him anyway, but I think Jesus understood the importance of the control of it, which is why he drew our attention to the problem with it. The whole world is deceived by the Great Harlot of Babylon because it’s by her wares and drawing people away into idolatry with the things and dainties that they can buy keeps their minds and eyes off of Christ. She’s killed people for it, and they’ve died because of what she’s seduced them with. Remember, there’s great wrath, and a cup that is given to her, poured out double, because her acts are so bloody and vile.

Satan uses anything that he can to distract our minds and appeal to the lust of the eyes, because if he can do that, and absorb your thought life with all of the things that you want, that money can buy, you are not thinking about Christ. It’s a real draw-away from the truth of reality. None of these material things matter. Yes, you have to have a place to live, clothes to wear, food to eat, and pay the bills, but what are any of us willing to do to do that if we didn’t have the money? I think that’s where the whole world would probably admit that if it came down to taking care of their children, they would beg, borrow, or steal. I really think that’s where we’re at right now in our society. Things are hard. Times are tough, and people are struggling just trying to stay alive and survive. There are educated people who live their lives in service rather than worrying about how much they have and what they’re going to do about it. I think we should all just live day by day, and let the Lord work it all out, because you can’t take any of it with you when you go, but I think our thoughts about what we would like to leave for our children are what most of us are the most concerned about, if our needs are being met. I’ve never gotten ahead in life, and I’ve worked hard since I was 16 years old. I’ve lived on a prayer most days, but somehow, I’ve learned to trust the Lord and not to worry. He always provides, even down to the dollar of the amount that I’ve tithed sometimes. He always sees about me through other people, or by some means that is totally unexpected. That’s why I decided to trust him when he told me that he was going to sustain me by my obedience to start the publication of Integrity News and Integrity Good News podcast. I think he likes to keep us humble sometimes, and he wants to see if we will be good stewards of what he has given to us, and after he has tested us to see how we will use it. Can we be trustworthy and loyal? Can we not be tempted to be a thief and steal? Jesus said that all that ever came before him were robbers and thieves. Have you ever thought about what he was talking about when he said that? We all have that carnal nature to take what isn’t ours for ourselves or he wouldn’t have written in the 10 commandments for us not to do it. Stealing hurts other people because it is taking something away from them that they’ve worked hard for, or that has sentimental value that can’t be replaced, but it’s a real draw for people who need things, and who are desperately, in their own ability, trying to survive. I don’t think any of us would want to be known for it, yet Jesus says that we all are. Maybe it’s because in our self-centered points of view, we are stealing glory that belongs to him for ourselves. I think that’s it. But, I believe the devil has found a way to use that to his advantage. He’s always wanted to be adored, and he expects us, in our fallen nature that he caused, to want that too, that’s why we need Jesus, to see ourselves for what we truly are; mere men, made of dust, created beings made in his image, to worship him.

“We’ve come to see which one you will hold to, trust in, lead with: The one given to me, in my name, from the Father, or of self, (which is deceived by Satan to see yourself as a god), who is of a configuration of the world.” (The son of ruin, son of perdition, son of destruction, an imitation of the righteous redeemed you corrupted by the devil that he has made in his image, (he caused all, small and great, rich and poor, to make an image unto the beast) that is focused on money, opposed to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit filled reborn creation of you that has always been present with God before the world was made. God sends His Holy Spirit to teach the righteous new creation of you how to put the self, made of the configuration of fallen Adamic man, corrupted by the devil and his fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, into submission by being able to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to us, and by the teaching of the righteous truth of God, by the authority given to Jesus by God, which he will then excess off, will lay off, separate, judge, kill, and cause the other one of the world or configuration (of soil, earth, of Adam, a configuration of the devil’s kingdom or government) to die off). He said, I came to conquer the one of a configuration. He said, I speak not to the one of a configuration, but to the one given to me of the Father who is able to hear what the spirit is saying.

There are two spirits, occupying one vessel, and one of them is of God:

* One born of man, or Adam, corrupted by and belonging to the devil, containing an evil spirit, referred to as the self or sinful inner man, a man born of the configuration of a Deity (Lucifer, or Satan promoting the worship of self as a god or goddess, the polluted corrupted man of sin, son of ruin, son of destruction).

* And one born of God, belonging to Jesus, making us righteous by God’s truth, containing the Holy Spirit of God, clothed with a righteous garment by Christ, sharing in the sacrificial lamb Passover feast of Christ’s sacrifice, being taught by the Holy Spirit who the Father is, bearing much fruit of the Spirit in righteousness, being protected from evil and self by being guarded by Jesus.

He’s trying to show us that there are two versions of ourselves that exist, and he came to conquer one of them, and release us from it. We will be sorrowful and saddened when we see it die, but it is a necessity to fulfill scripture, and a pain that will bring forth joy by being released from the burden laid onto us by it.

He’s telling us that he’s a vine in his Father’s vineyard, and we are branches in him, which can bear much fruit if we abide in him. It is not possible for the one of a configuration to bear good fruit.

He’s talking about pruning, and he will cut one of them off from the tree of knowledge and good and evil, that will then be able to only grow the fruits of the Spirit of the tree of life. He cursed the fig tree, and said, you will not henceforth bear anymore fruit. It is finished, I make all things new. Get ready for the coming DAY of the Lord! It’s a new day, in a new creation, in a new kingdom, as a new creation, as part of the tree of life, a branch growing fruit planted beside the river of life!

What a gift and treasure it was to hear my Grandfather’s voice after so many years of missing him. The Lord had me reading The Book Of James on the last podcast, and it just so happens to be the same Book my Papaw read from on this radio broadcast. I remember Pastor Walter Duncan from my childhood. We went to church growing up 5 times a week, Sunday: 3 times, Tuesday: CYC (Youth Group), and Wednesday night prayer meeting. I’m so thankful for my family and church family, past and present. The prayers, preaching, music and singing, and testimonies of these Saints are still making a difference today. If we never meet again this side of heaven, I will meet you on that beautiful shore. Praise God forever and ever.
